My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I'm working right now with trying to secure a good rate at the hilton near my house. Don't freak out yet at the name...if my friend is still the sales manager there, we might be in good shape. Anything along the Hwy 280 corridor would be best (zip codes 35242, 35243) because it's the most direct shot to the airport and interstates, and has the most places to eat, etc.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Hey guys, haven't been in the forums in a long time. Mikey (W4UAV) told me about the get together and its not to bad a drive from southern Illinois for me. I'll take off after work friday night and get down there late friday night.

I got a few KlarichElectronics toys I can bring along for show and tell but no A/P Heli's. Also bringing my projector if we need it for the PS presentation. Looking forward to it.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Hey guys, just got in from a long weekend roadtrip, so I feel your pains for this coming weekend (I did 1016mi Friday 8pm to Sunday 3pm). Matt, got your email, bring it on...that diversity rx will be very interesting to see. I hope to have firm hotel pricing on Monday. But if you can't wait, try to make reservations at any of your favorite chains on the Hwy 280 corridor. From Hilton to Best Western, and everything in between, 280 has it all. The area of Hwy 280 and I-459 is nearly dead-central Birmingham metro. Accessible to I-65, I-59, and I-20 within minutes, and only 15 miles from the airport. I won't be available until after 530 on Friday, so we can plan for a late dinner, 7pm or so, to have a get-to-know session. Steaks, burgers, deli, or pizza, plenty of choices. I ate breakfast with Bill Meador today in MS, and he's ready to teach ya'll about getting the most from your heli!

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I learned this morning that the Hilton will give us a free conference room and your rooms would be $99/night. That's a bargain considering it's a Hilton, but I thought that would still be a bit expensive. I am working on another right now at a brand new facility, and am expecting to hear word by this afternoon. We're shooting for the $50-$65 range without staying in a dive. If nothing else, bring sleeping bags. I have plenty of room at the house.

Ok guys, here's the deal. I got a block of rooms at $69/night, includes full free breakfast, high speed net, and a brand new hotel owned/operated by Hilton. It's called the Homewood Inn and Suites. To get this deal, you MUST call Gail Wilkerson at 205-948-2101 and reserve your room at this rate. Normal rate is $99. Tell her you're with Greg's group, and how many nights you'll be needing the room. She has them blocked for Fri and Sat. We have a conference room for $50 for the day on Saturday, starting at 10am. Gail is going out of town on Thursday, so she needs to hear from you right away. If you're not comfortable leaving your CC# on her voice mail, should she not answer, she said don't worry, just give her everything else she'll need to hold the room in your name. And as if all of this wasn't enough, there's a Starbucks less than a block away. Isn't that alone worth the price of admission?

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Yep Matt, that's the place. From I-459, head East on Hwy 280, go almost exactly 2 miles, and turn right onto Inverness Center Drive. Go a block, turn left at a median break to take you to the hotel parking lot. For geographic reference, at the 1.5mi mark, you'll pass a Chic-Fil-A and Target shopping center on your right. About 3 lights further East will be your right turn. There is a bank directly to your right at Inv Center Drive, and a stoplight. I'll edit this post with a pic shortly to show it a bit better.

Well, of course the Google Maps won't show the hotel and the shopping center in front because the photo is old, but here's a couple that should give you a better idea.



Conference room at the hotel is reserved for 10am, which gives everyone plenty of time to wake, shower (please), and enjoy a great breakfast (saw it this morning), before we get started.
