Compare the cost of one way bearing and belts.

Swash and head blocks are about the same.

Who is ripping us off, Align or retailers???

I must say I'm suprised that the tail belt is £3 cheaper for the 600 lol - I'm not sure if we are being ripped off - it may be more the case of Align have got their manyfacturing "machine" fully up and running now and can offer even more competative prices. I'm assuming the material costs are a very small part of the equation and it's the design and tooling that costs money.

Mybe the tail belt has to be specially made for the rex 450 but the 600 sized one is an off teh shelf item they can buy in bulk

i noticed the similar, if not cheaper, pricing of the 600 parts - seem to me as though it'll be just as cheap to bury into the ground as my 450!
bear in mind that the cost of the materials is about '0,' and that smaller parts are more difficult to produce because of the closer tolerances; so small does not equal cheap!

Size does matter

Remember 50 size helis have been around a lot longer than micro and minis, so there are more manufacturers making parts for this size heli, so the pricing is more competitive. It is also cheaper to machine a larger part, than it is a smaller, or micro, part. Take note that only some parts are cheaper.

I appreciate Align not charging more for the parts, just because they could get away with it.

Just put the 600 boom on the 450, then you could buy the cheaper belts!

Hey Kamikazi, you should try that out and let us know how it goes!

So crash parts are comparable huh? I wish you didn't tell me that. I had already decided that I wasn't going to get it, but the parts are comparable..... I just might. Still the electronics are killer for me. What battery is recommended for this thing?

The "recommended" battery by Align is simply 4 of your T-Rex 450 packs. I posted some photos of how you can make the 6s2p packs using 4 of your 3s-2100 packs.

Probably is though, I don't have 4 packs. Still, two large 3s packs would be doable. All I have is a triton, so I'm only good for 4s. Hmmm.... Maybe I can get one from Wes........... We'll see.

Well let me rephrase the statement. I don't have 4 packs of the same output rating, age, or brand.

FYI I have 5 packs. 4 3s and 1 4s. LOL NOW WHAT?!?!?!

All fun and games...

Hey Steph 280

What is the extra 7.4v lipo for that comes with the Trex600 kit??? Cause I thought that they have an external BEC anyways. Is it like an option to use a battery pack or a BEC??? Let me know I am curious since I am still waiting for my kit!!!

It's an external pack that powers your Rx/servos. The included BEC isn't really a BEC since the battery isn't eliminated in this Battery Eliminator Circuitry. It's more of a voltage regulator that converts the 7.4v down to 5.8v.

The advantage of this setup is that your receiver will not get any interference from power system feedback. Plus there is no longer a single point of failure since if your main battery goes bad, you still have control of your heli. Bad part is the hassle of another battery to charge.
