I'm new to helis just hovering at the moment, i have the 450 xl and have put the alloy head on it. The swash has a lot of slop in it after only 6 or 7 hovers, is this normal. (not happy)

I think you have the Old Swash with defective problem. They have a new one now with Align engraved on it.

Actually Stop buying it...BUT THAT WOULD BE ASKING TO MUCH WOULD IT ? Stop your urge for consumerism and start using your conscience. Maybee one should not support such coutries and ethics ..

...and its not only Heli bits its a general thing!
Consumer goods from Far east at rock bottom prices are always crap quality ! TV's, DVD's, bikes, cars ...heck the list is endless

....You cant have all ..cheap and proper..

if you are fed up with the poor parts it is about time you all sent them back but that will never happen
i was just looking back on the price of the trex all in just build and fly $200 inc li-po pack
now it is around $200 for the kit /motor/esc
so the price is now more than x2 and still some of the parts are crap
so what are you all waiting for send the parts back and maybe align will start to look into it

You are wasting your breath, they have been told before more than once. They get some perverted satisfaction by beating themselves with bad TREX parts.

maybe it is a case of send them to align not to the dealer to put back on the shelf
mind you some of you think that align parts are bad wait untill you try the x400
rear blades fly off soft steel parts that bend just by looking at them

OK...we know that the T-Rex 450XL flies great out of the box with no upgrades required. Mine sure does and I've seen many others too. The T-Rex's that I have seen with problems were such a mess, it looked like they were built by two year olds. So when I see the same posters over and over, complaining...I have to think that they are probably in the wrong hobby. It does take a bit of commom sense to properly build and set up a toy helicopter. So, instead of whinning about the T-Rex and being frustrated, you might consider a less demanding hobby.

i think that you are missing the point
so you are saying that all the problems are down to the builder
i think that you should apologise to all the good heli builders out there
i would like to see a heli that will fly correct out of the box first time
some are better than others
evan the Raptor had problems but they worked the problems out hardly ever to be seen again
what many are saying is that the trex parts are the same as when they first sold the heli
yes parts have been upgraded but not all
and the people moaning are trying to get the parts to be made better and maybe work first time
when the heli is working well it flys great
but when you have a poorly made part it is crap
how many 1000's have bought the trex never looked at a forum for the build /setup advice only to crash the heli through bad parts or bad build then the heli never will see the light of day again
for align that is 1000's of after sales and heli's they have lost
and many new flyers never to fly again
just my 2p worth

go with duzi parts and all of these issues will go away.

their parts are of the highest quality at the moment.

it's a no-brainer.

For the price of Duzi parts, you can buy yourself a R90SE.

I don't think he was missing the point at all. I've built two XL's and they both fly very well right out of the box in stock form. I had no parts issues. I know there will always be bad parts that get out from any company, but I think the impression that some give that Align parts are of terrible quality is a bunch of BS. If they are so bad as some claim, based upon their repeated builds/purchases, what does that say about their IQ. You keep on buying something that is bad, expecting a different result? Dim bulb move!

Edge, I think that you are missing the real point. It is not that the design of the Align parts is bad, but instead that the consistancy of the parts is bad. There is a distict difference in the quality of the parts from one batch to another.

Most users get good parts from Align, but some of us (I guess that we are just cursed), get the "bad" parts. I no longer use Align parts on my Rexs because of this inconsistancy.

MikeInMobile, you may have a point. But I have not seen "bad batch" evidence. What gets my dander up is some here who imply they have been buying Align stuff for some time and the quality is bad, yet they keep buying, and bitching. For example, someone spoke of building more than 15 Trex's and the quality is still bad. If it's that bad, how many do you have to buy before you figure out the same input gives you the same result! Possibly not the sharpest knife in the drawer! I think bottom line, many just like to have something to spout off about! With a few exceptions, sounds like most bad parts are being sold overseas!

fwiw..

Weve got about 8 rexes among the hardcore flyers here...3 are mine...all were built from the box into 3d flight..We learned a lot about electrics and micros in general along the way..I've had one set of XL frames replaces which were bad, two spped controllers I blew up which Andy replaced...
How these things are buit is EVERYTHING to how they will fly...They may not nbe Hirobo quality, but a fully capable 3D heli for around a BuckFifty is not a bad deal!

John.

Was going to get a Trex

I was going to get a Trex soon... Been flying a zoom around for a long time but having read all the comments about quality here I am not so sure! Have to admit that amongst other things, it was the cheaper price of parts that attracted me but if they are a pile of poo... whats the point?

The Trex DOES fly a lot better than the Zoom, and the parts ARE extremely cheap. Just perform a VERY CLOSE inspection of all new parts before assembly. This will prevent most crashes that are caused by quality issues.
