Make it stop, make it stop. I just bought a T-REX 450SA, and after stumbling across this thread, I am afraid to even look at it.

Don't listen to the bashers. You will have a blast with that thing if you take your time and build it well. I flew the crap out of my SA without any mods done to it, using crap electronics. Just because somone else couldn't make it work and feel they were ripped off doesn't mean you won't be able to get it working perfect.

There are times I must suspect when people complain of quality that it was likely something they did to cause the problem. Specially when the thing flew perfect on rails for me right out of the box with no mods.

the S and SA models are very nice helicopters
If you would have never read this thread, you wouldn't have had a second thought about it.

(there was also alot of info erased from this thread..)

Every detail counts!

Possibly, but I tend to think more on the other side of the arguement, expecially when talking about Align.

Buy a Lepton and a Rex and assemble them together side by side. Then fly each one and tell me that Align isnt some of the cheapest junk out there.

T-Rex 450SA

I started with the 450X, then the V2, and finally the XL CDE. The CDE was excellent. A big improvement, but still a few minor issues.

Now, I just purchased a 450SA and it is near perfect. A much improved product...nice manual, better packaging, etc. I disassembled the model to make sure everything was ok, and it was actually put together well. Loctited properly and setup correctly. I'm very impressed. Very high quality and it flys great.

I did give up after dealing with the 450X V2, but I was eventually able to get it to fly well after modding it to CCPM and making a few other upgrades. I purchased the XL CDE a year or so later and really enjoyed building and flying that version. At that point I decided that Align had really gotten it's act together. Now with the 450SA, they have really raised the bar. I'm very happy with it.
Now, I realize that the quality has been poor with the early models, but they were very cheaply priced so we get what we pay for. This hobby is not for the casual modeler...it does require a lot of aptitude and attention to detail. We're not talking about Wal-Mart RC here. If I had wanted something higher quality and proven, I would expect to pay much more money.

My 2 cents worth.

I have a SJM400 and while the design is cool, it has quite a few problems of its own. I like the 450SA much better even for the extra money.

I have had all versions of the trex, the v2 grey one was the best for fit and fly inmho, its when they went to the se it got ridiculous.

You are just amazing, since you have obviously disliked them for long, why do you keep buying them?
Do you buy a lot of other stuff you know you are gonna dislike too?
Do you get a kick from being disappointed?

Usually people learn from "mistakes" and don't redo them like you seem to...

My T-Rex 450SE V2 was my first Align product. The only issue I had was one link rod that was unthreaded on one end. I bought the T-Rex from the LHS. Since the kit was distributed to them by Horizon Hobbies, I called Horizon directly. As typical of my experiences with Horizon's customer service, they promptly replaced the defective link. Other than the link issue, I had no other problems with the build of my 'Rex. I did find that I actually spent more time in adjusting and trimming than I did in the actual building.

I now have over 100 10-minute flights on my 'Rex. I've had no durability issues other than the original "blue" main gear chunking a bunch of teeth on the third flight. I replaced this with a "white" gear. This has performed well with no wear issues.

I don't know about earlier versions of the 'Rex, but I'm satisfied with my 450SE.

WOO WOO Somebody brought in the Big and bad mini TITAN. Heh and when there is parts support what are you going to say? You can go into so many LHS's that stock thunder Tiger parts. The titan is a new machine and will take a bit of time to get parts stocked for it.

Boohoo Im sorry guys that Align isnt as good as you thought it was. I personally dont understand why some people seem to resent the Titan. Its just another heli. If it turns out to be much better are you going to stick with the Trex? Some people seem to love the trex so much it makes me wonder if they sleep with them.

I just finished my build of the T-Rex 600 CF combo kit and all i can say is wow. all parts were weighed and dimensions measured with calipers or a scale. Everything was within .2 grams tolerance and .2 mm tolerance, I can say, honestly, I am impressed with the quality of the stock 600CF kit.

...The Mini Titan, alas, is not a TRex killer...A product has to be measurably better, faster, cheaper....It's a good heli, but a a lateral move from the Rex...
Measurably better ......... ok ........ how about, better design, think there can be no arguements there ... I don't need to list the advantages again do I? How about better quality, just look at how round the main gear is! Cheaper ...... well some people may prefer quality over price but given that the standard stock plastic E325 flys as well as a 450SE maybe we can win that arguement too ....... By the way have you actually built and flown an E325, just so we know you have actually properly compared the two ?

There are a few negatives about the 325 titan that I think can be stated without having flown one. One it is heavier. I think weight is very important with the smaller electrics in how they fly. I also have read that the stock blades are not very good. Saying that I hope Thunder tiger or another company can up the bar. If there was something out there that flew better than the t-rex for about the same cost with good parts support, I would probably buy it. As with the quality of align parts, I have never had a problem. I have crashed my t-rex many times and have ordered a lot of parts. On the other hand, I could not argue with willy when he has numerous pictures of bad bearings, a metal head block that is obviously bent, etc. If I had received all those bad parts, I am sure that I would first complain to the vendor. If it kept happening, I would then start looking for something better. I also think that the e titan has not been out long enough to comment on quality of replacement parts or durability. Let someone beat it into the ground like I have done my t-rex and lets see how it holds up.

Well you now have made it kind of personal buddy, don't you think? the garbage you posted on my comparisson thread I posted my OPINION just like you... Oh you don't like other opinions do you.......
I also did it with out a personal attack... I don't go to the titan site and post how I like my trex better and titans are junk and I would expect the same from you.... BUT you can't seem to refrain from spouting off how good your heli is compared to a trex over here on the TREX forum.... If I really wanted info about the titan heli or even a comparison, I would have gone to that forum and asked for it..... Your like a pop up ad...
End of rant....

Since I once (a long time ago) started this thread, I feel its now time to close it (didnt right away see it since I unsubcribed long time ago),

I since then gave away all my 450's along with all spares for free to friends who couldnt afford a heli, but really wanted to have something to play with.

SA's has come, never seen one, never will, heard its better though.

Ive since then also got a Trex 600, not stock, but the HFE frame from Rotorworkz, For the $ its a OK machine, still, to be as good as some other machines it need all metal head, tail section need upgrades too, links have been replaced for safety and so on.
However, thats OK for me, since I knew it beforehand.
Still with all upgrades, fixes, the T600 HFE (10s) is good flying for the $

Anyway, Time to end this.
