My Posts This: Topic Forum | Hi,
I was waiting for a heatsink and smaller pinion for my motor, and decided to see if I can remove some play from the head.
While holding the flybar level preventing it from tilting, twist the blades and you will see a bunch of free-play. Most of mine looked like it was due to bell-hiller arms.
Upon closer inspection, the inside bushing was wobbling on it's post:
I decided to glue it in place. One needs JB weld, rubbing alcohol and Q-tip.
Cleanup everything with rubbing alcohol and put small amounts of JB weld on the inside of the smaller bushing and the plastic post:
Once you push it on, cleanup the bushing surface with alcohol:
Once it sets, lubricate with synthetic oil and re-assemble. Also, make sure that the post does not extend past the bushing, otherwise the b-h arm will be able to slide between the body and the screw. Trim if necessary.
Using this procedure I removed 50% of the play in my HB-CP2.
Let me know how much difference it makes on your heli.
