This deal with the radius block I find strange. If you do up the screws and nuts carefully then you will not break it. Once it is set you then put in the grub screw. If you are heavy handed then you will break it.

As a beginner I have had no trouble with the plastic radius block running headspeeds upto 1850.

I agree about the drive gears though. Mine makes a right old row as it spools up!

If things don't change... they'll stay as they are!

I'm new in heli world (exactly 3 month ago), my first heli is a SCADU H.P.M evo. So far I have 180 flight !NO CRASH !with no problem at all, I just check very carefully after every day of flight all bolts and nuts and adjustment, yet no sign of parts that would be a problem. After 3 months now I loop, roll flip , and fly up side down... isnt't that great!
The only thing I did is change my OS HYPER 50 bearing,They where finish, so I did also change all the bearings of the bird at the same time.

2 week after I bought the EVO I bought T-REX SE full equip, I have flew this bird for avout 75 filght, lots of crash and LOTS of time to repair the heli and adjust everything, but nothign to compare to the big bird.So I decide to sell it.

Last week I bought another SCEADU but SWM this time and also bought a SWM conversion kit for SCEADU H.P.M.

So I wont tell you welcome to the swich because I never had to, but I will only say you will love this heli for all the good reason everybody said.

"#1. Getting extra metal parts and spending more $$ on them to just make the heli work and fly stable. I have spent a fortune on TDG metal head on my raptor and it's still a bit unstable."

You do not need extra parts.. set-up and pilot experience is the key.

"#2. Spending lots and lots of time trying to work slop out of the mechanics and still getting "driftey" hovers and unstable flights even in no-wind days."

Set-up and pilot experience is the key.

"#3. Worrying about bad engineering flaws such as tail blades flying out, bad bearings.. or weak linkages"

Set-up and pilot experience is the key.

I have 3 flights on my EVO50. I LOVE IT!!! It is SOOOOOOOOOOO smoooth. I still need to tweak a little(aileron linkage, I had to add trim). But I put it in the air and no tracking was needed at all. And it hovered hands off.

I thought my Tiger was smooth. Holy cow what a difference, The EVO seems more precise, and a lot snappier. Plus it is much better quality, no frame flex, NO SLOP anywhere. PLus I met Jeff and he is GREAT!!!!!

I Hear no belt clang, no gears spinning...barely even hear the main blades spinning, thats how smooth it is.

Makes me even happier that I am getting my Lepton today. And I am working off a EVO90 by helping my hobby shop at fun flies.( tough gig)

HIROBO!!!! Til death do we part!!!

Wanna buy a Tiger?

Jeff...yep another Jeff!!!!

Don't mean to hijack this thread but I have a question; I bought my son an Evo .50(love it!!) and the gears it came with are white, not black. I don't hear any gear noise at all. Are they shipping with the white delrin gears now??

Does the lower gear have a blue machined hub? The Delrin lower gear is a ring-gear which bolts to a machined hub. Here's a picture of the Delrin DTDS setup:

The stock plastic lower gear is a combination of the hub and gear molded from one piece of plastic. The original Sceadu had molded gears that were white, but the Evo uses black plastic (unless they've changed materials very recently).

Guys thanks so much for all the feedback. I'm gettin the EVO and keeping the rappy as a beater. MTA and Heliproz are about 10 bucks off of each other on priceing. Only diff: MTA sells the evo
witht the MAH blades, and Heliproz sells their G4 Mavrick blades. Both are 600s. Which one is a better blade? Other than that, looks like I'm set.

Thanks again!

Go with the MAH, those Mavrikks are junk. I bought my Evo from the Proz, and I keep the Mavrikks as a spare set for when I crash to get me through until a good set of blades come in. I'm flying them now in fact, and they are noticably worse than the SABs and TTs I've flown it with in the past.

The newest Evo 50's are coming with MAH blades from MRC. I hope Heliproz is not pulling the MAH's out and replacing them with their crappy Mavericks. DOUG

I don't know if this is what they're doing, but they insist that the kit come with either NO blades or Mavrikk blades. I tried to buy my Evo 50 from them a few months back and they insisted that they had so much stock of no-bladed Evo kits that they couldn't sell me one with the MAH blades. I thought it sounded fishy, since MRC had been offering the MAH blades for a few months prior to this.

Anyway, I got my kit from Rick's and it came with a nice set of MAH 600/G2 blades. They're definitely better for the Evo than the old Mavrikk 550s I was running on the Evo30. Those resulted in some pitchiness in fast forward flight, while the MAH blades fly much smoother.

well, they can order the kits from MRC w/ either no blades or
w/ MAH's.

So they are either ordering 'no blades' and adding the mediocre Mav's or
swapping out blades to make more $$$.

if they are swapping blades, thats REALLY unethical.

That's exactly why I don't order from HeliProz. If they really wanted to help they could've had Altech drop ship a kit with MAH blades directly to you.

Rc Hobbies and More.com will NEVER switch out blades. Plus they price match. I dont work there, its my LHS( well its 45 mins away so that may say something too) They are GREAT people. They also fly what they sell, or have flown it. They ship world wide too. They stock lots of parts.

Rc Hobbies and More.com 860 738 7534 in Ct. They are a brick and mortar shop too. They ship the same day you order.

Thanks for the advertisement. I tried to support them by placing an on-line order, but realized they didn't have any Hirobo parts on-line. If they wish to compete they need to make parts available along with inventory status on-line. Yes, I know I can call, but I don't have time during normal business hours.

Heliproz is not switching out or removing blades. We simply accomodated their request for bladeless kits. That is all. Overall it is more work on our end from a prodcution standpoint, but they are a valued dealership so we do what we can do for them. Just gives more choices to all.

The response to adding the G2600's has been good. Those are good blades and a deal in the Evo 50 kit.

Jeff,

Are the blades for sale seperately? Any chance of 425 MAH's for the Lepton?
