Hi Juan, That was a great write up. Sweet looking heli I must say. I own three Quicks and love them, just built an EP 8 that is an absolute rocket. Have fun.

STILL TO MUCH CONFUSION....

The market is still confused by QUICK WORLD WIDE & QUICK OF JAPAN.

Too simplify things just call us QWW made in the USA...I think this is much easier.....

Iyobe is still a very close friend even though we do not do business for many years now, we still email each other. I will visit Japan & Iyobe soon & attend a glider event with him.

Our products are completly differnt products & different designs...
Out heli line goes from GAsoline to nitro to EP....

Thanks for your understanding & your support. These posts make us look & feel great that our efforts are appreciated.....& we will continue to provide the best we can...

JuanRodriguez and ant_mb,

Did you find in FFF that the copter had a tendency to pitch up? It only takes about 3 clicks of down to get rid of it, and flies on rails. I swear it tracks better than my old Dirty Birdi partern plane. My head speed is about 1650 right now. What head speed are you running.

Magnumeng,

There was absolutely no "pitching up" tendency with my heli..... My head speed during the initial test flights was 1750..... I'll most likely bump that up to 1800 or higher next time around...hopefully this weekend....

Magnumeng, for sure bump the head speed up to at least 1750. 1600-1650 is ok for a nice hover.

Hey Juan,
Could you post some pics of the rotor head at zero pitch?
Thanks

No pitching on my end. It flies much smoother than all my raptors do. The raptors are great machines and fly VERY well, but they are not as smooth as my Quick 50. Raptor has it on the fun factor, but Quick has it hands down for a relaxing smooth flight. I am thinking of putting it in a scale later this year. Time will tell.

Thanks
Anthony

MAINBLADES50,

Here are a couple of pics of the head with the radio on and pitch at 0 degrees..... It's very subtle but you may notice that the hiller arm that attaches to the blade grip is not quite level..... The push rod dimensions given in the manual are "approximate" starting points but I wanted to try it with the initial dimensions given....

Before the next flight, I'll shorten the "short" link and lengthen the longer one that attaches to the swashplate to make that lever level..... One turn on each should be all that is needed.....

I hope the pics help whatever question (s) you might have....

Juan,
Thats what i have been doing to my outdo. I got the new arms in and just got them installed and pitch set. I put the short end in and the long end out and going to try that and see what it does.
Thanks very much for the pics... Barry

No problem, Barry. Glad to do it.

I had the opportunity to fly the Q-50 some more yesterday and I have to say that the machine is flying SWEET. The weather was HOT and rather windy/gusty but the Q-50 handles the wind very well. During my last flight, I was having so much fun with it that I lost track of time and ran the darned thing out of fuel !!!

Yep, a real "emergency" auto followed and I was able to save the machine with absolutely no damage...... During the previous flight I had done a few "practice" autos to get a feel for the machine and boy am I glad I did !!

I hope everyone had a good weekend with an opportunity to do some flying yourselves ...

Your Quick 50 looks great! I picked up a Quick 60, used. I went up to Hobbies & Helis to have them take a look at it, and get some servo mounts. Irwin gave the thumbs up and said it was good to go. It's probably about 4 or 5 years old with an OS61SX and MS carbon blades. I had it flying within three days. I am very impressed. It's big, and does huge loops. 540's are awesome, it climbs forever...and hangs. I have about 14 flights on it within the last two weeks. I to was very impressed with the quality of the parts. The guys I fly with are also impressed. My wife would rather have some patio furniture...what can you do? Good luck with yours.

And Quick UK. Irwin, I think the manufacturers are the confused people. Why would three companys name their company the same name?

QUICKWORLDWIDE.COM

I AGREE IT IS CONFUSING....However there is helicopter history here as I have been in business for 20 years, Quick of Japan for 14 years & Quick UK Around 11-12 years.

Talk about confusing...Look at GM, GMC, Chevy, Cadillac TAhoe & the rest of there look a like autos....that's confusing for sure...

If you want further explaination as to the QUICK CONFUSION please just ask me for details & the facts will be related to whomever..

Thanks Irwin

I have a couple of guys telling me that my Quick isn't really a Quick. Ummm...all I can say is that I love the way it is put together, and I love the way it flys. It all seems pretty real to me. I haven't doinked it yet, but from what I can tell, parts shouldn't hurt the wallet too bad. I live in PA, so I also like the fact that I can drive to get parts, or have short ship. I'm glad QWW is based in PA, USA. I love my Hirobo choppers too, but I remember a time when it was very difficult getting parts for my Tsurgi and GPH 346. There's always good and bad, it seems. If you like buy it, if you don't, don't. I'm now thinking about a Sweet 16...could be fun.
