Did MFA ever make an upgrade to the standard sport 500?

Are there any other makes/Models that can change the NC to Collective?

I may have an opportunity to get 2 non collective 500's for under $200.But i want collective.

Thanks

Run away from those NASTY NASTY NASTY collections of metal.

You'll get a sour taste for the hobby if you try one of those things... Save your coins and get something better...

OH GOD! that was my first heli (fixed pitch) i traded a perfectly good boat for it, I got it because i was brainwashed what a great concept it was.... use your airplane radio and motor.... ahhhhhhhh BS!!! that thing SUCKED!!!!!! i spent hours and a few gallons of gas trying to get the motor to run right to get the thing off the ground, i ran it on the bench stuck it back in and it still wouldnt get off the ground, when i got it off the ground, 4 feet was the highest and it would loose power and fall back down, i heard the collective version were better, but either way that hell can piss off, and the guy who designed it!!!!!

The Sport 500 is a rather old design and although I have a couple I must say that there are easier Helicopters to learn on. Yes I like them and I don't think they are crap, just old and differant...
Hope This Helps

The MFA 500 was the first helicopter I tried. The tail rotor drive was a real pain in the neck for me, it kept slipping. At my age and experience level I didn't know how to fix it and it drove me nuts, it ended up in a trash bin somewhere.

Tail Rotor Slip In The Sport 500

Easy Fix, Get a new length of wire and simply bend it out the side of the collar that it rides in. Do this on both ends and then there is no more slipping. Some of the older 500's collars must be cut in order to do it, but it works very well. OR get the anti-slip tail wire kit from Como Drill. Either way works...
