My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Anyone ever use the above combo?? I know they say not to mix non-Futaba digital servos with Futaba gyros, but as far as I know the 8700G is not a digital. I have the servo with the JR 550T gyro but I hate the gyro. Sure would like to use the servo, though.... Please let me know of any experiences with this setup.

I used the 8700G with a GY401 for a very short time and it did work ok but there was a problem that made me decide it was a bad idea.

First off, I was told that if the combo is powered up even for a second with the gyro set for Digital servo that the servo will burn up instantly.

The problem I experienced was that when the combo was powered up and the gyro was initializing, it would throw the servo hard to one side overdriving it badly regardless of the travel limit. After the gyro initialized, it would work ok. It seemed to me that this would not be good on the servo to be stalled for a full second whenever powered up.
I did NOT have the gyro set for a digital servo.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I just ran a test with mine and was considering my 8700g with 401 . It did the same thing. I have not and do not intend to fly with it that way. I did the test off the heli( not mounted ). I don't know about you, but I cannot fly comfortablly thinking that thier could be a problem with the gyro/servo combo.
