Hello all,

I'm new to all this and I'm having a very hard time keeping a constant altitude. At the field this weekend we set the pitch and throttle curves to get the headspeed up which made a BIG difference in how the heli responds, much better. But the problem I'm having is this... at hover about 2ft off the ground, I go one click up on the throttle and the heli goes up to about 15ft or more, one click down and I'm bouncing off the ground. I can work the throttle up and down and keep it at a fairly stable altitude. What can I do to get more control of the altitude of the heli?

Sounds like you maybe have the pitch points too far apart on you TX setup. Is your throttle increasing much from the one click adjustment?

Do you have the airplane version of the XP6102? Sounds like it by the click in the throttle. The throttle stick should be smooth through the whole range, if it isnt you will have exactly the problem you are having. If this is the case you need to get rid of the clicks. If not, someone with more experience at this than myself will have to offer some advice probably on throttle/pitch curve settings.

OK, got rid of the clicks. Open the back and there is a strip of metal on the throttle mechanism, just remove the 2 screws, turn over the metal strip and replace the screws. Tighten the silver screw to the desired tension on the throttle.

I haven't been able to fly my real heli but it seems I have more control over the altitude now that the clicks are gone in the sim. I like that much better.

As for throttle curve and pitch curve.

Throttle:
0 25 75 85 100

Pitch:
-5 0 +5 +7 +9

Keith,,, if most of your problem goes away but your heli still bobs a little say 1 or 2 ft try richening it up a bit, a richer running motor doesn't bob like a lean running motor does !!
