Hi all,

I'm flying an Evo 50 / OS 50 Hyper / TJ-Pro + 9253 Th. servo and
whenever I'm going to decend in Id.1 ( 1750 ) or Id.2 ( 1850 ) with the Governor on, I hear the Wah Wah sound of the engine and no matter what I do like changing Hi and low needle settings, fuel ( 15 % vs. 30% ), pitch curve etc. as long as the TJ is engaged, I will have this problem. With the governor off, there's no Wah Wah but obviously some increase in RPM.

I have read the threads in RR about chaning the settings in the GV-1's secret menu to solve this problem, my question is can something like this be done to the TJ-Pro ? Any other ideas about how to get rid of this Wah Wah ?

Thank you all in advance for your suggestions.

Hamid

I had exactly the same problem with my Freya TJ Pro and 9253 fine whilst loaded but as some as you off load the engine would hunt, i ended up fitting a JR 591 and had no more problems, it seems as if the Gov/servo combination was over reacting.

Hi Patriot,

Thanks for the prompt reply and suggestion.
Before switching to 9253 I had a 9101 on the throttle
with the same results and switched to the faster 9253
hoping this may cure the problem

I'm really lost

Have you tried turning off the super servo mode?
On my Evo 50 I found that the 9253 was just too fast.

Usually the hunting you are describing is a tuning issues; the gov expects a certain change in RPM by a certain time when it moves the throttle arm. If it doesn't get this it over compensates and starts a roller coaster ride.

The other thing I've seen is the throttle barrel hanging up, where even the sideload of the servo causes it to "bind" and react slowly. Check that everything moves freely both when cold and hot.

A good thing about the 9253 is how easy it turns when powered off...
I fitted both my 50's (Raptor and Evo) with a return spring that will shut down the throttle in the event that power is lost in a crash or malfunction.

Thanks everybody for suggestions.

Mike, I will turn the super servo mode off to see what will happen and send the results tomorrow.

Playfair, will check the barrel both hot and cold for the binding.
The spring is also a very good idea, will install one soon after the
problems are solved, thanks.

From my experiences with the Sceadu / OS50 combo
and usingf both TJ Pro and Rev Max
The hunting is one of two things,
the pipe or the tuning being lean.

An easy test, hover at waist height in your idle 2 (1850rpm),
hit hold and put her down on the ground.
If you hear the 2 stroke motor bike sound,
ring a ding ding ding,
then you are lean for sure.
If this happens as soon as you hit hold,
then it's the main needle.
If this happens after a second or two when you running out of headspeed
then it's your idle setting that is too lean.

1750 is a tad low for an OS50 in a Sceadu at 8.7 gearing,
the OS50 loves to rev,
in my opinion 1850 and 1950 would be better choices...

Good luck

Hi Jafa,

Thank you for your kind reply and suggestions.
Will try the hover / Hold method to see if the engine is lean or not and the higher headspeeds too to see the results.

It looks that tomorrow I have alot of homework to do with my Evo
