My Posts This: Topic Forum | When you run 2000+ head speeds, it is critical to carefully balance the tail rotor. The main rotor head must be removed first, of course.
I always balance the tail rotor. Also, I balance the main rotor in both directions.
Oh, and I do replace the following parts approx. once a year:
- tail belt (every 50-100 flights) - thrust bearings - o-rings (dampers) - tail blades - blade bolts - "Jesus bolt" and nut - all other rotating bolts/screws - shrink wrap on paddles - receiver battery and cables - one-way bearing (no longer required as I have converted to the steel hub and 14mm bearing)
I have not yet experienced a mechanical failure, despite hundreds of flights. And my MP is quite old - #8 built... |
