I just replace the lower rotor head on my CX. It flew fine for a few minutes, then it starteded to shake a lot and couldn't get off the ground...I have adjusted the new rotor head several times and every time it does the same(flys for a bit then shakes). It looks like the inner shaft and hub is the thing that is shaking..but i am not sure.
...any help or suggestions would be appr.

Check the screws on the lower rotor head to make
sure their tight and that the head is in the correct
position / height,You say you have been ajusting
the head what is does your adjustment consist of
exactly

If the upper blades are out of track this can cause
a vibration but won't prevent lift off..I think the
lower head is your problem, If it's slipping as I
suspect the blades will spin but not fast enough
to get off the ground! During this process is the
heli spinning in one direction?

Not sure if this is your problem, but if you've taken things apart you need to make sure that the flybar link on the top blades is replaced so the flybar weights are ahead of the leading edge of the blades.

hooked up backwards causes severe shake and often blade strikes.

It seems that once i get to a certain speed the inner shaft stops gripping...no sure but i think its because the inner shaft retaining collar isnt gripping the gear good..should it not be able to slip at all? Because i really have no idea.

No,it should not slip! Try grasping the lowwer gear and
upper head and lightly apply a twisting force to see if
it's slipping then repeat with the upper gear and lowwer
head. Note the part that slips, Also make sure the retaining
collar screws are on the flats of the shaft.

If you find the lower plastic head is slipping you may
need to use loctite ( blue or green ) on the screws because
the plastic threads you made/cut by installing the screws in the
head can be stripped and not allow enough pressure to lock
it in place.

What do you mean "make sure the retaining collar screws are on the flats of the shaft"? Are the flats at the end of the inner shaft? or are the flats on the plastic part of the gear?

The inner shaft has two flat sides at the bottom, You
install the lower drive gear on the inner shaft and
then the retaining collar. the holes in the gear and
retaining collar have to be aligned with the flats on
the inner shaft before you install the retaining collar
screws. If it's not lined up correctly you will have a
slipping issue that you describe.

If your flybar is bent even slightly it can give
you a vibration in flight, You might want to try
a new one

Blade Cx Vibration

I have found out the hard way by replacing the inner main shaft and outer main shaft and flybar and other various components that the vibration might be just the easiest of all fixes. I found out that some blades after they hit the ground or carpet may look 100% but somehow they bend and cause the CX to vibrate. It only takes about 50 seconds to replace both upper blades and 50 seconds to replace the lower blades and that is usually where I start when I get a vibration. Like he said above also check that the flybar weights are ahead of the leading edge of the blades. My main problem with the CX is the fact that you usually have to retrim every time after the initial takeoff even after adjusting the screw to make sure the heli does not yaw either left or right. A lot of other people tell me that they have the same problem....
