I've noticed a bit a play on the metal lever that is pinned onto the metal elevator control arm. What does anyone do about this ? loctite ?
wait for the pin to sheer in flight?

Hi Guy,

I had the same on both of mine with the hole going slightly too large for the pin.

Some of the stupidly strong thread lock that comes with the trex sorted mine but not really looking forward to taking it a part !....

Hiya.
Perhaps a bit of blue to start with and see how it goes after a few days of hardening.

I've used a little green loctite there with no issues.

It is a problem. My R90SE went in two weeks ago because the pin came out some how. Luckly it was from a hover and suddenly flipped over forward and went in on its top from about 10 feet up. Except for the blades it was only about $50 in parts. I think the green loc-tite is the answer I hope)

My first crash EVER on my 90SE was my first "hovering" flight with it in my back garden. I forgot to put the grub screw in that holds that pin in place! Ripped the hole back off But that was my own stupid fault! I wasen't happy, as literally 7 days before my tail gear box in my Vigor CS failed!

Hi,

I got the problem also. I had to drill the holes to 2.3 mm and insert a new pin to replace the original 2mm one. The pin fit tightly as I had to force a little to put it in place. No problem since the modification was made.

I just Drilled a small hole in the top of the leaver, and threaded a grub screw in it.

Now it holds as tight as you like.

They are now.....I'll pass it along. I found the same issue. I've been told that the blue anodized upgrade is better because the blue makes the tolerances a little tighter.

The pins are hardened throughout the heli. Setscrews don't traditionally bite hardened pins. Note the lack of marks on the pins when they are removed as evidence.

This is the reason the setscrews sometimes relinquish their grip on the TR drive pins and on this pin. Hence the use of heat shrink and green loctite in several spots.

Jerry,

On my Rap 90's, the pin can be held tightly (marks or no) and without locktite, the lever has play in/out. The aileron link can actually rub/wear on the lever too. I've never lost a pin, but it's sloppy nonetheless---hence the locktite.
