Willie & OICU,

Thank you for taking the bait. You have proven my point exactly with your statement.

"I am not like someothers going to put up a smokeshow and tell a bunch of fibs on something"

When I said "I am well aware that for some guys, nothing the Swift, or Century for that matter, does would be adequate." I was going to say that if they saw it with their own eyes they would still think it was a "smokeshow". But I thought I would be kind and let you say so.

I have sat back for years as you guys keep slagging Century helis because you could not get them to perform. Yet 1000's of others have. So please consider that just maybe it is your ignorance in set up or something else that is causing your problems (P.S. The Swift swashplate you sent is now in a larger nitro heli and flying very well).

As for vids of the Swift performing hard 3D, there have been many posted to which I have directed you to in other forums. And each time you seemed to think it was "smoke and mirrors". That is why I made the statement I did re: "some guys". It would only be those who would have recognized themselves.

As for your mention of the Logo. It also is a very good machine. But if I was a past owner of one, I would feel a little betrayed by the prices I had been paying for their product in the past. It would be obvious to me, from their BIG price drop after the intro of the Swift, that I had been gouged for years. IMHO, only if I was blindly anti Century would I be against them for forcing the lower prices on Logo items.

I do not think anyone has ever said that the Swift was the end all of electric helis. All I have ever heard from any cheerleaders is "look what it can do" and pointed out its' relative value for the price. If that sticks a burr up your rectum, that is your problem, not theirs. If you do not like something that to is fine by me, that is your perogative.

My father used to have a good expression that in effect said "leave your cocoon and maybe you will learn more".

Sorry, but I have tried my best for a long time to remain "politically correct" with you guys. But I finally realized that it was serving no purpose.

Phil

Are his boom struts on top?

Yes hobbyboy they are. Sometime ago myself and several others posted pictures of Swifts doing this mod as a few of my freinds did as well. It seemed to take "some" of the shake away "in flight", still was not the cure however. I am going to "guess" that is the reasoning behind Adam having his boom supports on the top.

__________________________________________________________

****, i said please avoid drama,,,but here we go,,,,

Ok so being politically correct is using people names in forums and calling them out and getting all defensive, especially when the topic was asking for a video?, you have not been politically correct since the beginning so I am not sure what you are talking about. As far as ignorance in setup or flying I think you should back up a step or two, that is a pretty uncalled for and bold statement for someone who doesn't even know myself for example in person or who has seen any of my helis for example fly. I have many very experienced pilots who have seen my helis and flown my helis and have said they were some of the best built and setup helis they had seen or flown, so that statement of yours holds absolutely no water at all my freind, in fact it is totally off cue. I have seen many Swifts Phil, you forget maybe I do not live in the toolies but in one of Canadas fastest growing cities and economic areas where people are buying rc helicopters, it is amazing but true, lol.

I nor Willie,,, and I know I can speak for him on this are certainly not the "anti century bashers you are calling us out to be". There are several people here in this area flying Century, some ravens, predators and they fly ok no issues. There have been issues however with Swifts yes. If I can save someone money buy telling them to wait until a company has an issue resolved I am going to tell them that as a fellow hobbyist, if I can save them money and re direct them to something that is at the time "more proven" I am going to as a fellow hobbyist. I do not recall the smokeshow being refered to as being a video or videos. The smokeshow spoken of was some Century people not admitting or fully dealing with issues the Swift had, rather than saying "that's possible" ,,,the old "hundreds or thousands others don't have this problem" statement comes up or as you so proudly said in your statement just now apparently we are ignorant or do not know how to setup a heli, how ignorant are you and how rude and uneducated of a statement is that?

....BTW if you like I can link you to several of threads where "dozens and maybe hundreds and if I exagerate like you maybe thousands, lol have shaking issues on Swifts."

In conclusion, I look forward to seeing your professional flying abilities you speak of and your dazzling helis this summer. Maybe you can simply wow me with your abilites and vast knowledge but I highly doubt it. Proof will be in the pudding Phil, hope you can back it all up, I may have only been flying helis one year now, I know I can back up anything and everything I have said on this or any forum, guess we'll hopefully see if you can.

Sorry for all on this getting off topic and bringing this into this thread, but since I am being personally attacked I am not going to be walked on by anyone for no REAL reason.

Cheers

Not likely Phil....

Here is a picture of the swash sent to Oldfart "good thing for some proof huh?", doesen't look to flyable to me. In fact the inner ball was about as notchy and sticky as any I had ever seen. With a mainshaft through the swash you caould barely pivot in any direction, even with the introduction of triflow etc it did not appear to looses up and the delrin type material around the inner swash ball was inconsistent and the ball did not hold center. Now next time if need be I will take a video shoot of the issue so someone can't go off and say they are flying it in a heli, gimmie a break.

BTW.. That vid was not a good pump me up one, I enjoyed Adams vid much more that the one you just linked. After all this thread was about Adam and his accomplishment was it not?

Hey,

Our Adam done an excellent job on the day as we can see from the video.

As for his opponents, needless to say they were not over shadowed equipment wise! Competing helicopters ranged from 50 size Raptors to full blown 90's, all piloted by some of the best club, non sponsored fliers the UK has to offer!
Adam was flying the only electric heli in the competition, there were others there but only free flying on the Saturday off the peg day.

The Clubman 3D event is basically a stepping stone for the club flier to compete against like club fliers and have a very good chance of winning a major event. At the same time being spotted by a model maker/supplier for their exceptional skills.

I think everybody needs to let go, give it a break!!! This is getting stupid.

I for one love the swift. Never had any troubles with any parts quality, it had a little shake on spool up and down, but nothing major. Still waiting to test fly after installing the update parts.

Hey Joe,

Thanks mate, should be a good & busy Sanddown for me this year.
Will be flying in 3 slots this time around, WREN with the Turbine, CenturyUK & FlightPower with the Swift.

Been out this evening with the Turbine trying to perfect tail-in, inverted funnels with it. The excess weight of the turbine want's to keep flicking the nose over if you don't hit it right.
The swift's easy, just fling it round nice & quick. But the turbines nicer to fly smoothly.

Seems like this post cooled down some already...so my turn

Did anyone noticed in the video when tail blade "touched" ground?

Check it out again...it happens at 1:32...give or take.

Since it rained...probably was just the grass letting off some water out of intimidation.

Cheers!

Deja-vu!
I mentioned this once to a basher...funny indeed I did not get a reply but it's sure nice to know I'm not the only one that thinks so.

Heli bashing 101?
Bashing helis is not a foundation of a respectable opinion. Instead specify the differences so that "anyone" can decide for themself...especially nu-b's.
