Congratulations to Adam Turner on winning the Clubman 3D event held just today using a Century Swift powered by the every powerful Flight Power batterys!

Details on Adams setup as soon as we can.

For now I can say he switched to the Century 600 out runner motor & Flight Power 6s1p pack for the event.

Well done Adam, great flying!

Hey h2jringo,

Ashleys got it spot on above, here's a bit more detail :

- CC60 running firmware 1.23b from Castle website
- Blades were Century Whisper Tech 51.5cm's (I think they are NHP's but this is their true name from Century & their stockists)

I have heard there maybe a video of the flight, as and when we get it we shall try to post it somewhere.
I want to see it myself as I didn't go yesterday only saturday, missed a good flight in the end

Congratulation Adam Turner

Hi Ian,

Worth all the messing about on the Saturday.

Both rounds looked good!!

Adam's flying in the free style was technically very good, and well

Thought out with flowing moves, making it stand out from the rest.

Well done!

The standard of the flying this year of all the pilots was higher

Than the year before, and I am sure it will be the same in years to

Come.

The great thing about it, was the way everyone helped everyone else

That had a problem, both sides of the flight line.

Making sure who was enter could take part, making it enjoyed by all.

The next ones aimed to be the biggest one yet with 30 entries,

from a Friday to a Monday over a bank holiday (So I was told)

Thanks to all the organizers of the event and sponsors.

Rob

From the chat I had with Adam he was using the Flightpower 3700 6S pack and the new Century Lightning 600 outrunner with a 14T pinion, still with the PH60 speed controller. Adam is using the latest CC firmware which is a definate improvement.

The big problem on the day was the damn rain, it rarely stopped and cut short the competition but I saw all the freestyle flights and Adams was certainly impressive, plus being the only entrant using an electric heli! Adam has fitted the upgrade motor tray, tail brace & bell mixers - like me but I can't fly as well

Well done to Adam!

Besides what heli he flew against

More importantly what are the sequence? aerobatic auto's, 4 point tic-tocs. etc.

I am verey impressed if Adam could do that type of flying with that machine.

I would like to see the vid as well.

Good going!

*EDIT*
I looked up the unanounced sequence's, basic FAI hovering and slow flight manuvers

monuvers http://www.clubman3d.co.uk/wildcard.htm

Still a good judge of good flying abilities!
And with a small 30 size bird !

But would be interesting to know if this is the new motor.

Willie & OICU812,

I am well aware that for some guys, nothing the Swift, or Century for that matter, does would be adequate.

You will both get a chance, I am sure, to see a number of them doing a lot of 3D at the funflys this summer in Alberta. Please attend, I will be there and will be glad to show them to you.

If you had attended the Shag '06 event this past weekend in Saskatoon, you would have seen Leon L. and Trevor Z. wring one out in some very high winds. I know these flights opened the eyes of many who had in the past been negatively influenced by some Alberta naysayers. Unfortunately for the naysayers, seeing the proof in the pudding so to speak, just undermined the credibility of these naysayers.

Had one 3-D'ed it to crazy!

I figure It will not hold up long term!

Another flyer here has took the next step ordered carbon frames and all the bling to get rid of his shakes, or to make it as smooth as a logo10.

The swift is OK. heli but as a nock off LOGO it is selling now for more money??!

Century is great for beginner flyers and those on a budget, and will do alot for the hobby with cheap pricing.

The Century Team will have to step it up with the NEW Align and Mikado setting the pace.

I have owned and flew every century heli that there was and is talked about and will give a honest opinion as I am not a brand loyal type of guy, only loyal to quality.

That aside OLDFART The main statement here is that Adam Did a great job with what he had!
I am sure if he stays brand loyal, a Raven or Falcon could have made him look better for the same start up RTF price as his Swift.

Keep up the great Flying Adam!

Phil, (Since I am being singled out once again...)

Real professinal statement for a rep, not one bit me thinks..Well in short I was asking for a video or a link that was it. I have stood up for freinds on here as Century was not going the mile to fix their product, and the so called fixes and replacement parts didn't do it either. Personally so it is know it doesen't matter to me what the name or brand is, if it is good I am going to tell everyone, if it is crap I am still going to tell everyone. The bottom line is in regards to my experiences and what I see in the build, the flight, the aftermath etc... I am going to tell the truth. I am not like someothers going to put up a smokeshow and tell a bunch of fibs on something as alot of hobbyists spend their hard earned dollars and would like to get a decent product. Now that being said I couldn't make it to Shag due to work commiittmens and the distance, that was the only reason. I have seen Leon and all the Ercha guys fly enough to know Leon could make a brick with a rotor look good, I also know more than a few others locally that can fly more than adequate enough 3D to wring out and evaluate a heli, you don't have to be a sponsored pilot to be able to fly a heli 3D you know.......

Anyways back on topic before being singled out again, is there a video of this young man flying this Swift anywhere, please and thanks.
