My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Hi, I am new to this hobby and desperately seeking some advise. I have emailed Reflex, but I'm waiting for a reply.
I have set up a model in ppm mode (mode 2 sticks) and noticed that when I plug in the lead, the tx comes on without the need to switch on. Is this OK or do I need to swith on the tx to work correctly with Reflex?
Could anyone tell me which channels would be best to assign when using (mode 2)?

Elevator
Aileron
Pitch
Auto
Gyro sens
Throttle

Finally, when I go to calibrate I get a report of No Signal on all channels.
I would greatly appreciate anyones help as I am desperate to get going.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		You do not need to turn the switch on. When you plug in the jack plug it turns the radio on but leaves the RF section disabled. Just means the TX is not actually transmitting. The channel assignment will run you through automatically after you get it calibrated but the list is as follows:-

Rudder 4
Aileron 2
Elevator 3
Pitch 6
Gyro Gain 7
Throttle 1
Autorotation 1

Now not sure why it is not calibrating. If you have the switch on then it will not work. Leave the radio off and just plug the jack plug in, you should be good to go. If that fails make sure the wiring is OK and that everything is connected properly. You will never get a reply from reflex their customer services have gone right down the tubes. While i remeber if you find any of the channels need to be reversed you can do this in reflex in the channel assign screen rather than the radio. Just click the + or - at the end of each channel assignment to change it. Hope this helps. Make sure that you have all channels centred for the calibration. I disable the channels i am not using and disable the trim levers on the sides of the radio (they are just a pain) You will also need to set the gyro gain channel to 0 to centre it, then set it to a working value afterwards. Let us know how u go.

I have assigned the chanels as you stated, however I still get a report of 'No signal' on all channels when calibrating.
The lead supplied by my local shop has a yellow tag with '9106 IBP' on it. Is this the correct lead?



This is a snapshot of my channel display.
Do you have any other suggestions.

The screen you have a picture of with the channel display. They all appear to have values. Do these change if you move your sticks around? Normally if reflex does not detect any signal from the TX these are all at 0%.My lead has no tag but it is just a jack plug with plug that connects into the blue reflex dongle at the other end. Are the wires inside your plug OK? the white on mine goes to the centre and the brown to the outer. Have a look inside and see if mb one of the wires has come loose.

Just looking at my Reflex lead, it has a label "9106 JR". It should have a mono jack plug, some radios take stereo leads.

I know the jack plug end should have a resistor in there, to work with the 9X II see

It looks like you could have the wrong lead.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Really i have 9X2 and no resistor i have had no problems. A while ago there was an issue with the dongles. They needed a resistor taken out or the 2 wires swapped to get it to work. I had this problem when i had my futaba 7c

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I bought my copy of Reflex a few months ago - the only JR lead available was the one with a resisitor. I guess they just all have them in these days?

I had to resolder the white lead, as it had a rough joint causing problems.

The jck plug is sealed and it would appear that there is insufficient room for a resistor.
Does anyone else have the lead '9106 IBP' for use with a JR 9XII Tx?
I think I will have to try and exchange the lead.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Yeah i think that changing the lead is a good idea. If you look at the link though the resistor thing only affected some dongles sold in 2004. As i said mine has no resistor. Luckily i can unscrew mine and check inside. The fact is says IBP and not JR like the other posters is mb not a good sign

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I managed to speak to Reflex this morning. (Guy spoke excellent English!)
They said my problem was the lead and have agreed to send me out a replacement (with a resistor in it!), which should solve my problem.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		i have that same lead. everything works fine for me. make sure your radio is in ppm mode and swash set to normal. calibrate center, then calibrate tx or manually asign channels.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		It all depends on the interface unit (ie dongle). Wolfgang and I sat down at Macgregors one day testing every (almost every) JR radio that was popular with about 4 or 5 of his interfaces to see what worked and what didnt.....

The big problem is that the way Graupner/JR interface their sets (the MX22 needs a "bolt-on" adaptor for DSC etc) and it varies within the product range and as he is based in Germany, that was what he had to design and test the interfaces on initially.

But generally speaking the standard JR sets are all mono connectors and usually without a resistor. The only exception to this that I am aware of is the Quatro and that uses a stereo connector for some obscure reason.

Anyway I am now sorted, however I would still like to know -

What would be the best channel assignment for flying Mode 2?
