I would like some concrete non bias reasons why I would want to buy an EVO 50 over a Raptor 50(like a raptor SE). Please feel free to give me the pros and cons of both. Thank you in advance for your input. FYI I been flying for 8 years. But no one has this model in my area.

In your search you should find that the Evo is as close to "plug and play" as you can get. They fly great right out of the box and no one recommends any metal upgrades till after the stock stuff wears out. Also in your search the name Jeff Green will keep popping up. He's with MRC, the USA importer and will make your experience much better on the off chance you have any issues.

I just built my second .50 Evo. The only con I think worth mentioning is some of the hardware, IE: phillips head frame screws should be replaced with hex heads.

Other than that theres not alot to add.

Repo man's got all day and all night! Lets go get a drink!

One Evo 50 kit with OS50 Hyper, MAH carbon blades $580
Carbon Extreme Dampeners $28
First Gallon of Wildcat CY30% $25

The way you feel as that Evo tracks perfectly across the sky, then flips and rolls faster than a Fury on Crack:

Priceless!

One of the lads at our field field bought an EVO50 built and loved it, the build and the flying, he has since bought a Raptor 50SE, hated the build, things didn't fit, instructions not clear, and he recons it doesn't fly as well.

i have a fully blinged raptor 50 and i had my 1st shot of an evo 50 yesterday and it's without doubt a better flying heli than my raptor, or any raptor i've tried for that matter. it just felt more precise in everything it did.

i love my raptor and i was thinking of getting something else (mxr500 when it comes) but i think the evo is in with a shout now.

i have to say, i'm not convinced it is out the box 3d for the evo, but, nor is the raptor. the one i flew had every upgrade on it as the owner said the std parts get sloppy quickly.

cheers

Another Point of Interest

Hirobo's customers service can't be beat! Jeff Green's is the customer service! for Hirobo. Check other threads, Jeff Green on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best, is a 20! You are not going to get any consistant good service for the Rappy. You might(!) get good service for the Rappy support once in a while but Jeff is consistant and he has been with hirobo for years.

I have owned several heli's, several brands, and for the 50 size class, the Evo 50 is the way to go. I have had Rappy's, got tired of the middeair tail boom stricks. After the tail boom stricks, tried to get a response from the Rappy customer support. I never got any return calls. They may have fixed that by now but the Evo 50 never had it, at least it never happened to me.

Check out the video of Alan flying the AVANT in huntsville, It shows what a real piece of sh!t the raptor is. This kid is going to finally win a contest now with a decent heli to fly.

hi

used to own a Raptor, it was too pitchy for my likings.. The Evo 50 flies like it is on rails,, probably partly due to the underslug design of the flybar.

I learned to fly on a Raptor 50 and flew it for a year and blinged it all up. Then I got a used stock EVO 50. Without a doubt the EVO is a much better machine flips faster and like everyone says "flies on rails"
Now I am thinking of selling the Raptor.

rap v evo

I've had and flown both the Raptor30, Raptor 60 and then an EVO 50, and I would definately say that the Evo is smoother, not pitchy and easier to fly than the raptors. The roll rate is awesome and the quality is better for the Hirobo products. I Even like it better than my Xcell. Set up is sooo much easier. Like others have said.. Fly's awesome right out of the box.

I have flown both and you can sit here and pound on your chest but I didn't notice much of a difference except the EVO seems to have a better auto unit.

well i found a BIG difference, the evo tracks better. isn't as pitchy in rolls (forward or backwards) and locks in much better to most things (pie dish, funnels, rainbows) i've been die hard raptor 50 for 2 years but i'm defo getting an evo. i'm currently searching for the best deal on one before i order.

cheers
