ktrout153,
Nice thread. Very useful info.
I'm trying to figure out how not to broadcast a radio signal from a Blade Tx while using the sim.
Right now, I'm using my Jr 8103 on a sim. With the JR Tx, when the sim cord is plugged into the back of the Tx, the Tx turns on and sends ppm signal down the cord, but does not transmit radio signals. Nice feature, as Tx (ppm signal) turning on and not broadcasting, would prevent radio interference. i.e. Perhaps a neighbor flying in the neighborhood on the same frequency... not likely, but...
I was wondering if anyone knew of any way to just send the ppm signal down the Tx cord without the transmitter actually sending out the radio signal?
The only way I can think of is to install a mono plug jack, like the one on the JR Transmitters. Wire it so when the jack is inserted, the ppm signal is sent down the jack and power supply to the transmitter part of the radio is cut off.
Does this sound feasible? Would the rewiring be too difficult?
Would it be worth the trouble? Humm...
