Very interested in this ship. Would be great scale mechanics. NO oily mess afterwards. Whats your thoughts on that?

I am glad to see positive posts about it.

Thanks Jeff

Even though the canopy is like every other pod and boom canopy it has something extra - nice looking ship.......but still would like a Hughes canopy on it.

Thats got my interest too. I have heard that there are some fuselages in the pipeline, not sure what yet though.

Guys, I get a lot of calls concerning housing the swift inside a scale fuse. I know it can be done, but I do not have any information regarding the conversion nor read anyone who has or has done it. I know one of these days a brave soul will post it in the Scale disscussion forum.

Jess,

The canopy is not mine, but for painting process.

1. Sand mostly the seam and other protrusions with 200-300 sand paper
2. Coat with plasti-kote Flexible Bumper & trim Adhesion Promoter (3-5 light coats should do)
3. Coat with plasti-kote Flexible Bumper & Trim Primer (I do two thin coats, sand with 400, then redo)
4. Paint with plasti-kote color(s) of choice
5. Clearcote with plasti-kote Competition Colors clear top coat No.307 (3-6 coats should do)
Plasti-kote is available from Pep Boys and costs about $2.99 to $3.99 per can, so also very cheap.

The main issue with getting the Swift into one of the Century fuselages already on the market is that they would add a fair bit of weight and the frame would be a fair way off the base of the fuselage, nothing a little ingenuity with lite-ply couldn't fix but maybe the boom's height is more of an issue.

I'd be happy with a semi scale canopy like the one I think was on the JR Schweizer.

Since I am not doing any 3D with my future Swift, what set up would be good. Motor, Battery and ESC mainly.

Looking to do a 222 with Swift mechanics.

Just needs to be a cruiser, not a hot rod.

I will post pics when I am done.

Thanks Jeff

I would think you would want a Nue 1910/1.5

http://www.readyheli.com/index.php?...45fd758175075e3

with the fan since it will prolly have limited airflow??? And you could/can run 550's to help with the added weight??? I don't know weights on scale projects specially 30 sized ones.

I think the CC45HV is the ONLY way to go since it works with 4s up to 12s (50 volts!!! WOW!!!) so it would be the last ESC you would ever need and only 20 to 30 bux over the regular CC45 and CC60's price.

http://www.fxaeromodels.com/product...roducts_id=2382

Battery is a good question and I THINK I have the perfect answer,

V28 cells!

I'm not for sure what times your looking for BUT.....Some are getting 9+ mins on 7 to 9s batteries which is only like 100 to 115 bux per pack. THAT IS SOME CHEAP FLYING!

I think you would have more than enough power and since it is scale and not 3D you could prolly do a 7s to 9s 2p and get 15 mins + on some 550 blades although I'm still guessing!!!

Let us know what you end up with, scale sounds interesting.

One possible issue with scale fuselages is fitting & removing battery packs, maybe an opening hatch in the body?

Thanks guys!! I plan on getting this together mid may, just making my shopping list now.

The funkey fuses are LIGHT.

How big are the batteries, I dont want to charge them in the model. So I may have to be creative on my install of the battery for easy disconnect. Link for the batteries? Never saw the ones you describe.

Thanks for the help. Pics will be in order.

Jeff
