The 64 bit XP runs all 32 bit applications in 32 bit mode. Reflex and G3 WILL work just fine!

Well the software perhaps, but for the controller it will require a 64Bit driver, so is any one running either on 64 Bit?

The Reflex controller uses a standard HID driver. This is supplied with XP-64 .... again, no problem.

there was a few posts about the same issue a while back.

i do know afpd does work for a fact as i have that on my 64 bit now.

If the Reflex interface is the only HID device on the USB interface, it will work. The problem is that Windows does not keep track of which HID device uses which driver and will associate all HID devices to the same driver (Usually, the last HID installed).

From what i've read about it,the main problem with stuff working
on windows XP 64 bit edition is related with the type of installer program for the application
ie getting it installed to try it in the first place.Although XP 64 will run 32 bit applications, it is rumoured to be a bit slower than when running on a std 32bit XP
Also if the application comes with a 16bit installer it can't be installed.

Or were you meaning Reflex and Realflight supporting Windows XP 64 bit by re writing a true 64 bit OS and processor version of their simulator?

Unless you have 64 bit specific applications that you know benefits greatly from XP 64 bit version i can't see the point of moveing just for the operating system unless it's a free upgrade
I know you can demo it alongside the current version but i think it's limited to a month or something

I am running Reflex on a 64 bit XP system. I had the simulator loaded when I upgraded to XP-64. Reflex still runs fine.

I haven't tried a new install now that XP-64 is running (and not going to try .... I beleive in letting a sleeping dog lie).

The version of XP-64 is a MSDN version (I am a developer and get things before most).

Copy the CD to the hard disk. Then, create a shortcut to the installer and set the shortcut to run in 32 bit compatibility mode. This will allow you to install.

Quite right

Well I purchased G3 and it loaded just fine and the USB interlink works just great. If you plan on using your own radio make sure you edit the heli/plane and choose radio pass through.

Unfortunately copying the CD to the hard drive, making a shortcut and running in compatibility mode does not allow Reflex XTR to complete installation. It still hangs on the HID driver install with the error ...

ERROR_IN_WOW64

Which according to Microsoft is because it's trying to install a 32 bit driver which win xp pro 64 will not/ can not allow.

What a bummer upgrading your system just to find out not a darned thing will run on it. Suggestion to those of you ready to update to the newer 64 bit processors, don't waste your money on windows XP 64.

The standard HID driver should work with the Reflex interface. Try bypassing the driver isntallation and see if it works (the dongle uses the standard HID interface mechanisms).

Unfortunately the way Reflex is setup you can't bypass the driver install it crashes out and aborts. However from another thread here I learned you can copy an install from a 32 bit machine over to the 64 bit machine and it works fine. I just burned a CD of the /Reflex/ directory and copied it directly onto the 64 bit machine's HD and all is well with the world.

Dear Johnny,

the problem is not the software, but the standard Windows installer.
If you have the possibility, please install the software to a "normal" 32 bit computer.
After that you can copy the folder C:\program files\REFLEX to your system.

In some cases it might be nessessary to install the Reflex-HID-Driver too, after copying the folder, in order to make the system recordnize the USB interface:
http://www.reflex-sim.dyndns.org/re...exHIDInstGB.zip

BTW: the next versions of Reflex will have the latest version of the Windows intaller, that can be installed to 64 bit systems directly.

With best regards,
Florian Raabe
