pauchelle,
Have you tried tweaking the flat metal strip in the back of your FF8 radio's DIN socket. The metal strip makes contact with a dint in the the metal round can part of the interface plug.FF7,FF8 and 9Z's are notoriously troublesome in that area. The metal strip is often pressed too far in which can give erratic channel behaviour due to a noisy partial contact
Also have you tried moveing the JR type phono plug to the socket connection on the other end of the short Futaba DIN lead (the one that comes with the sim).

arrrgggg this reflex is not user friendly... I wish Ive gone to G3 sim much easier.!!!

heres what happening now. I find out that my throttle stick all the way down... is actually halfway on real life throttle. if I put my throtle stick up... the engine stop. if I go down. the engine start or blade starts sppining but... not enough power to FLY.. it only spin and go sideways...

why... I watch my CH display and it says... CH 1 and CH 2 is moving at the same rate.... CH 3 and CH 4 is moving at the same time also... WTF... I think theres something wrong with their Connector... or that Dongle...

I am using a JR radio with mine and I do not turn the radio on it is powered up from the USB port. I had the same problem with the throttle and then the aileron. To fix I needed to reverse the direction of the aileron and when told to center the controls put the throttle in the 50% position. Open the panel and use F7 and go to the lower portion of the page and click calibrate and it will walk you through the setup. It is not an intuitive program but it will work.

If ignorance is bliss then why are so many people unhappy

ok I did what you said. I put my throttle stick on 50% And ... what happen is... its still backwards. but... the heli suppose to lift. but theres not much power to it. it only spin. and move a lil. it dont even crash sideways. the blade only spin a lil bit.... I tried it on every model. EVEN the Aircraft Model is not working for me!!!! why is this happening. I tried every angels reversing every CH I can but none of them work. If only I can find the right spot for the throttle then I guess it will be fine. but as far of now... I cant find it.. I tried calibrating is. it said calibrate finish... but its not properly done. dunno I will get some screenshots later on.

Now that you are this far, I will repeat my earlier advice.

Go to Assign channels ... (or just hit F7) and follow the instructions that appear at the bottom.
After that process, all channels should be going the right direction. The only thing that might still be wrong is since throttle and pitch both move when you move the left stick, one channel may be assigned to more than one function. Just fix that manually and you should be good to go.

What will it do when you try hover training? It is midway down in simulation. Start with aileron only and work up till you get the channels setup right F7

Should mention you would also get all those 4 channels moveing together if
you had the model memory on the tx set to CCPM (SR3) mode instead of
std (1 servo per function) AND if the revo mixing on the radio was still activated which it usually is by defualt on a new model memory
with Futaba
An active revo mix would bring ch4 into play when the throttle collective stick is moved.
In CCPM mode CH6 would move at a reduced rate which would explain why it doesn't want to lift.

Also sounds like your throttle channel could be reversed or not set up as being recognised on CH3 by the sim.

Rookie's Setup

I'm a new Trex crash and burn passenger (pilots have control!)

But, I have 20 yrs I/T experience, used to be hard core gamer etc.
I may not know how to setup heading hold yet, but give me keyboard and I'm in my element.

I have the Optic 6, got Reflex. I noticed my channel assignments were not only all screwy but got them same jiggling, wiggling looking at the calibrate screen - OK, not synched.

Disconnected from USB, I copied by helo's model to an empty model.

Read somewhere CCPM not recognized in Reflex. Turned CCPM off in my xmitter, undid servo reverses, made my pitch and throttle curves linear.

Plugged back in. Assign channels - 1,2 - cyclics 6 - pitch 4 - rudder 3 throttle.

It's also going to ask you to go hi, low, left right - when it goes to the controls not applicable to you (aircraft stuff) just hit tab, tab then OK.

Check the controls using the display channels - run through your stick movements - if any are reversed, that's what the +/- does, servo reverse.

I should have said earlier to use some default heli model first (one of the built ins) just to get the controls right. In the models parameters setting, make sure governor is not on.

If things are still goofy range of control wise, just run the assign channels again making sure you got 1,2,6 for cyclic and pitch, 4 rudder, 5 - i left that unassigned 3 for throttle.

If you download and use any of the Trex models, you don't have to modify controls all over again, but you will then have to make adjustments in the model parameters - range of pitch, make sure governor off.

Once I had the controls assigned and moving correctly, all the tweaking then takes place in model params as these model designers all do it different and even some are a bit strange to me (like cg on one of them was like 10 tons in the nose and soon as the thing started, wham I'd nose before doing anything) - adjust CG neutral.

I then took all wind, gusts, stuff like that out so I could determine if it was the model or me. Once I got the model dialed in to replicate my real helo - then I could turn wind and stuff on.

PM me if you still have troubles.

when you set up XTR just set your TX to heli and thats it do not chang any settings all you need is heli
then try
if you are getting probs after that then you will need to do some re soldering,,very EZ tho
undo the bit that you plug into your hand set ,there will be 2 wires ,, un solder and swap over to the opposite connection re solder ,plug it back in and try again
oh and when your doing this unplug the dongle from the jak lead
let me know if this helps

reflex xtr

hi vince in the uk here re problems with the reflex sim
most of the trouble is the transmitter, i was using a jr 3810
which i use to fly my models trouble is it will not calibrate
in the sim all the problems some members are having is the
TRANSMITTER that you are using, step 1 start sim connect the
dongle and trany if when sim is running press f8 all the
channels should be stable ie centred if they are moving left
to right you have trouble step 2 calibrate your transmitter
it should shows most channels centred if it does you are in luck
but if the channels were moving in f8 the model will move
around when you start to fly ie model will move around without
you touching the sticks, step 3 calibrate your tranmitter at
the bottom of the calibrate screen it will tell you to center
sticks and so on follow this until complete. step four this
is for jr transmitters TAIL CHANNEL 4- ELI CHANNEL 1+
AIL CHANNEL 2- PITCH CHANNEL 3+ this is for a helicopter
setup middle section ignore bottom section ignore, i had all
the problems some of you members have had but the only way that
the sim would work for me was a new transmitter after that
every thing works perfect the transmitter i bought was the
jr model x2610 not cheap but it solved all my problems and i
promise you this THIS TRANSMITTER will work in all reflex
sims i hope this helps vince.
