Looks like some nice changes in the works for the Blade.

Suppoesd to be easily upgradable to Brushless.

Hopefully we can upgrade existing units with a few parts, as it seems to be the existing Blade with the Bell/Hiller parts, symetrical blades, Lip pack and a new 3 in 1 control unit.

Nice new headlock Gyro too as an Option:

That gyro looks like the standard telebee/zoom/align gyro. HeliDirect has it for $60.

The receiver is separate from the 3-in-1? That should make it easier for JR people to "hack" it.

Well, IMHO they've only gone half way. Why not get rid of those tail rotor motors and supply it with a belt drive? then they could truly call it the cp pro!

cheers

i would love a belt drive, but it would require a big CP makeover and would probably jack up the price. i dont mind the electric tail. did the DD mod and havent had probs since

Heligrom, you can "easily" use a HH gyro & brushless motor on the stock blade setup. Just open the 4-in-1 and solder 3 wires (real easy to get at), one ground, one +5V, one rudder signal. Connect these 3 to HH gyro, connect gyro output to a $8, ~5A ESC for tail (before you do, cut, remove, disable, tape small red 5V wire BEC from ESC connector), plug tailmotor into this ESC (parallel the ESC power leads to the 4in1 so it gets juice). Enjoy the locked tail.

If you haven't a computer TX, you'll need a $6 hardware mixer for rate mode, HH should lock without this (I use HH for take off/landing flipping from compu-TX).

BL setup (main or tail for that matter) is done the same way. Personally, I only like the 4-in-1 as a 6ch RX anyway so I do away with the rest by "cutting off" where CH3/CH4 (throttle/rudder) connect to the gyro/mixer board & trash that, then re-cover the 6CH RX board with sub-c batt clear heatshrink & cut open the 6CH and crystal area.

Same tricks work on the CX, I've done them, altho really a PG-03 rate unit is overkill flying indoor.

Maybe easy for you??? Sounds like something I could really mess up!

I agree, why doesn't the pro get rid of the tail motor like the Honeybee cool and king?

Looks a lot like the HonneyBee CP2....Wonder what the gyro and Brushless upgrade will sell for?

I guess if the frame and stuff are the same, us blade CP owners can get the newer 3-in-1s once we hit the ground hard enough to trash our 4-in-1s
