A brushless motor with about 4000 rpm and t-rexx blades?

There are 2 brushless motors that are good to use on the King both with a 9 tooth pinion....

AM-300L Brushless Outrunner 3800KV
and
JGF 400DH 4000KV Outrunner motor

There are lots of people with the king talking over on RCGroups. I just bought mine and going through the setup. So far other than the main shaft being a noodle I'm very happy with the heli but it's only been 1 inch off the ground so far lol

my motor puts out 3200 rpm/volt, Im using a 14t pinion, the headspeed is insane. Ive tried the smallest Trex blades, if you are using the stock motor it will overheat.

Hi all, do you really think it take a 25amp Brushless-ESC for the King? I have a Himax-2015-3600 and CC10 in stock..

The first motor Elite 3d Pro use to have was a Himax2015-4100 + CC10

I don't own a King yet,,, but I can tell you ,,,, a 10 amp esc will not work for long......!!! I have heard that the stock brush motor will pull over 14 amps by it's self....

**Now doing Forward Flight And EASY 3d! And having a Ball !!**

Hi,

are you sure the

AM-300L Brushless Outrunner 3800KV

will fit the king?
I think the Dimension : 2.3x26x27mm is too big?!?

Yes that motor fits in the king just fine. Both of the ones I listed have been used in the King with no issues. The 9 tooth is really the one you wanna use on the AM300. Anything higher will give you higher head speed but will push the limits of most of the cheaper lipos.

Here's a pic of a king with the am300 in it.

Unfortunatly it does look like a 25 amp esc is needed for the head speed we all want. You could probably get by with a CC10 on an 8 tooth on the AM300 but the head speed will be pretty low and not good for any 3d. If only the ThunderBird 18 had some sort of way to set the lipo cutoff that would be an ok speed controller to use for cheaper.

what about with this ESC:

http://www.helidirect.com/product_i...products_id=775

It should be fine, or?

How do you connect the ESC, do you only need the orange signal wire?

Which Lipo are you using?

Greetings from Germany

Hi Guido, if you have a separate gyro, Rx, the Esc plug(3 wires) directly to channel 3. Not just the orange.

As far as packs go I only use Thunderpower 1320mAh 11.1v prolites. I use these in both my planes and this heli.

The battery plugs into the esc and if the esc has a Battery Eliminator Circuit then the esc will send power to the receiver which will then power the servos as well. The standard 3 wire plug includes power, ground, and signal wires. So yes. that's how it gets there.

I just bought a King too. I also was planning on using an AM-300L and Thunderbird 18. I have that combo in my Esky FP2. I am not sure that the cutoff is an issue. I fly the FP2 till it can't hover. I have noticed a rapid diminishment of power before I can no longer hover, but not a cutoff as in no power to the brushless motor. Unless what I just described is a cutoff and not just the lipo running down then the Thunderbird 18 should work well wouldn't it? This is my experience so far on a 2s lipos and the FP2. Do you think it will be different on a king and 3s lipos?

Hi Jibrilhas,

I think you describe a SOFT CUT-OFF. This is an option in the prog. of the Esc.
