does anyone know if century sells the bearings to replace the 4 in CNE258? i had a little bout with gravity this afternoon and the bearings are a little notchy now.

i dont see anything specific on century's site other than maybe scuttling them out of a set of plastic grips

if it ain't broke…break it.

The bearings are the real common 3x6x2.5 that are used for the main shaft. Century CNE213. When you put the new bearings in, put the inner race from one of your old bearings in between the bearings as a spacer so both bearings absorb the thrust loading. It's just the right size and will extend bearing life. Tom

thanks to the both of you. but, i'd rather pick them up at my LHS, john. thanks for the offer

tom: thanks for the tip on the inner race spacer. seems difficult to align when inserting the feathering shaft though, or am i missing your point? those bearings have to be pressed into the grips. if there's a little inner race floating around in between them, it'll be tough to get the shaft through, no?

if it ain't broke…break it.

I got extra bearings and even the CNC grips w/ bearings.

Don't forgot to put them on the list of things to bring to your house

I may stop by Sat. If it rains tomorrow, I will stay home and build a heli or 2 . But if there is no chain control I will be coming down from Heavenly on my friend's world's top racing skis .

Cudaboy,

Installation with the extra inner race was no big deal. Mine are that way. They can't get cocked so even if they're misaligned it's no big deal because you can see the race and reach in and align it with a small screwdriver or toothpick or whatever. Just a non-issue. Tom
