Milwaukee V28 conversion.. under $100 or so I am told...

Please.... enlighten us all a bit. I have heard a little about some possibilities for Li-ion batteries in 50-60 size helis, but have not seen any real information. Are there any sites or discussion threads that you could point us to??

All I know is that I want one, but I'LL BE DAMNED if Im gonna pay Thunder Power prices for those batteries. I'll just get a 50 Rappy, a few cases of 30 nitro, and still have money left over.

Not sure if you have to be logged in or not. Personally I haven't read all these threads and information about them. A gentleman at our local field was explaining the parameters to me and so far they sound pretty good..

v28's.

toss a 7S1P in there for under $100.

25-30mins of flight time = $300

How on earth can you go wrong there ?

Plus you can charge 'em at 2-3C.. with 3 v28's you can charge/fly all day long without stopping.

... But honey it was only $$$

How do you get a 1P? It's in parallel with itself?

What some entrepreneurial RCer needs to do is make a bracket that will take the packs just like they are in their nice bump resistant packaging, something that can be moved on rails to get the perfect CG... That would rule.

Plus you get the nifty LED status lights right on the pack and can drop them in the OEM charger!

This sounds like something I would completely butcher a drill or flashlight for....

Make that flashlight as they're cheap. The drills are 300-400 bucks

You want to take the v28's out of the case to save weight and get rid of all the extra wiring. The rcgroups thread covers it all.

Align is trying really had to get this kit under $399
Batteries are going to be very reasonable ...currently the ALign 2100 mha 3s 16c (made in the same factory as TP) is 65$ ..so expect low prices on power systems ... this is speculation right now .. motors and esc's are going to be reasonable ....BEST of all this kit is convertible to GLOW ....the TREX is going to be a raptor killer so look out thunder tiger ... :O trex is coming!!!

SCADABOY, did you click the wrong link? Or did you fall out of your chair while watching the video, hit your head and got a good case of amnesia It flys way past my abilities I'm buying one. Good luck with that concrete block thing, post a video of it sometime I would love to see that.

LOL, I can tell you as I own a Rappy, after a few motors go, clutches, and the messy fuel you will be allot more $ than you think...trust me. I have done the direct comparisons and the pros and cons, E Helis "big" are a big drop of $ in the beggining, the long run though,,, a different tale. If you chose not to beleive that, fine no worry but I assure you I have done the math long term and suffered thousands of dollars on nitros as well.

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...
