I think the pictures in the manual actually show the servo mounted in two different way!

I have to admit I nearly always do it my way with tail servos anyway but some good guidance would be better.

Right, here is the promised image to show where the pushrod guide is:

And here we see that I can't get the pushrod inboard enough with the servo arm in a horizontal plane. However, I prefer this as at least the servo arm is parallel to the rudder arm. Strewth, I thought I'd cleaned off the nitro muck.

Where did you get that landing gear? Looks much stronger than stock.

Helijon v. Wedge's pushrod setup

Sorry Helijohn, but in your quest for a "Linear" control movements, you've created too much lateral (Diagnal?) direction in the pushrod set-up. The way Wedge ran his is much straighter & closer to making the pushrod 90 degrees at the tail slider.

Gotta put my vote for the Wedge set-up.

Thanks helibad I was about to say the same thing, you can see Helijohn's pushrod runs at quite an angle to the boom.

I went and looked at mine again, and the servo arm is square with the bellcrank, its just pivoting on a different plane then Helijohn's. The way mine is it puts the servo output directly under the boom, which is a straight shot to the bellcrank.

Yes I agree. I don't particularly like my set up but it does run as a parallelogram, the pity is it isn't a rectangle with it's 90 degrees which is a subset of the parm. The problem is getting that pushrod close to the boom both ends as well as straight down the middle. Are yours truly parallel or does it fall away from the boom at the servo end?
The landing gear is a Quickuk one. It's tough alright but dunno if you would want the extra weight though as it weighs about 40g more and is a little lower.
