so i crashed mine again today after a tail blade departed. hhmmmm. been thinkin bout somethin for a few days and wondered what others might think about it.
a while back i noticed that some guys had moved thier battery on the Trex to a higher possition which got it closer to the roll axis. so im wonderin if anyone had tried this on the Eco and put the battery on top of the frame in the front. wonder if it would improve the flight charactoristics.

Yes it has been done by some and they report faster roll response.

willy i was thinkin more for better cg and roll rates. the tail is a whole nuther issue. i recieved the tail for a swift today and am workin on puttin it together and on the heli. gonna have to think my way through this a bit as the boom dia are more different than i thought. when i looked at things online i thought that the tail box slid over the outside of the boom. it goes inside. ill get it. might have to grind it down just a tad to make it work.

willy it is a 5mm shaft. i drilled out the stock pulley for the shaft. also had to trim off the shoulder where the grub screw is. on the swift the pully is held in place by a pin. the pin is held by a bolt that threads in from the end of the shaft. interesting idea i think. anyway as you prolly know i switched my tailboom some time ago to a Fury carbom boom. turns out the outside dia is the same as the dia of the gearbox that slides inside. i have a plan. will be back from lowes in a bit. hehe. they are both exactly 3/4" in dia.
