My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Went today and managed 4 flights with the swift, setup using high governor mode on the cc60 esc. The head speed seems very fast but then I dont have a tach to see what its doing, but sounds like a turbine

Am starting to get used to it now and am liking it so far, just having one or two glitches per flight thats a little unsettling, sometimes its the tail other times seems to be motor so could be static on tail maybe how about giving it a skirt with some silicone spray would it help? seemed to work well on my trex in fact one squirt and no more glitches.

Ive got my rx well to the back of the main shaft in the space where the extra servo cutout is and Ive routed the aerial down through both skids and then back to the tail fin.

Using a JR R700 reciever.

Other than that it was a great first few flights! with me getting more settled with it now!

Looking forward to more flights and some warmer weather here in the U.K.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		No sorry got that wrong not through the skids, it goes through the undercarriage legs I drilled a very small hole through both legs and fed the aerial through the front and back legs to reduce the length of trailing wire to the rear fin.

Sorry bout that no its not through the skids!!

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Okay, got you now, mine is similar. I'm seriously thinking about fitting a Quick UK base loaded whip aerial as they've been very good on my other, none electric, helis and much easier to get out of the way of the electrics.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Yes I think it can cause problems my trex used to glitch till I sprayed the tail drive with WD40 since then no glitches! I know that WD 40 can attack the belts but then its been running great and I cant see any wear so not to bothered!

Well I have moved my aerial but havent had a chance to fly it since so will let you know.

My aerial is now running through a trex aerial 'straw' attatched to the undercarriage legs and pointing forwards my receiver is still in the empty servo space with the aerial coming down the back of the heli to the rear landing strut through a tiny hole and on through the front strut then back again into the tube finally exiting at the front!! so I will give it a go like that and see what its like if no glitches then I may simply put a base loaded map antenae to the rear strut facing to the rear.

Think I am going to move the boom supports to the top as well if you think about it if the heli gets a shake on then having them where they are is just going to make the shakes worse, seen pics of them attatched to the top of the frame near the highest servos.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Been out there today and the Rappy wouldn't start. Looks like my Swift suffers with the shakes. Will have to remove the feathering spindle and check for overtight fit.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Spooling. Must do a range check with the new antenna siting. Removed the feathering spindle and removed some ball alloy, boy it was tight. Be interesting to see if it makes any difference! It seemed chilly out today.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Well guys my head block and feathering shaft are not tight at all but it still shakes somewhat!! However mine did come with the narrow weak undercarriage I found out tonight it measures only 12 mm acrros the skid grips as oppposed to the better stronger ones being 16 mm.

So if I can get the new undercart may settle it down some more, its strange how youve got tight head blocks and mine came with a slack fitting one!

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Don't forget I'm using the Quick undercarriage and still it was shaking on the ground. Couldn't get on the field today so will try later cos I want to see if the mod to the feathering spindle has made a difference. Up to 12 mph wind and cold with it.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Do you think moving the boom supports to the top of the frame over the boom instead of under it would help, some have done this and I suppose the if there attatched to the undercarriage then when a shake starts it going to be transfered to the boom making it amplify itself! as the undercarriage wobbles. Only thing putting me off doing this is that the supports would be a lot closer together and therefore possibly not give enough support to the boom.

Any thoughts about this anyone ?

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Interestingly, on helis where the boom stays attach to the frame people say that they have moved them to the undercarriage. Even if this does help to cut down on feedback of any boom shake it may be that it is really only masking a more fundamental problem that needs attention. If you are just looking for support of the boom then it should be OK, after all, there are helis that have only one boom support anyway!!!

l`ve been messin with the swift for a mate lately.The only way l found to stop the dance was to get the weight off the front tray and the main pack under the main shaft.With that setup it spools up and hovers very smooth but is mega tail heavy.Move the pack up under the tray which is a perfect fit (think thats where it was intended)and the balance is spot on the main shaft but no way can you get that rotor up to speed.Tried a few things with no improvement,its just no a ridgid enough frame as far as l can see.
Anybody cracks this let us know.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I can feel a cure coming for the shakes just around the corner with all these guys on the case it cant take much longer, Im going to try the boom supports up the top of the frame thing, that is if it shakes too much next time out!

If that fails I reckon on trying some softer dampners, need to find some o rings that are softer could be worth a try ? or then again they may need to be harder? lol

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I am pretty sure that if I was using the standard undercarriage the shakes would be horrendous - it seems so weak and flimsy. I have my main battery slightly forward and the Rx battery well forward. This makes the ship just balanced. I don't like tail heavy helis, they unnerve me.
djt have you thought of moving the boom supports inboard a little so that they are nearer the frame where the legs are more rigid?
