Sorry to hear your heli crashed. My suggestion is what I have done. I have flown planks for decades and the same thing occurs helping folks with them. When you become proficient folks will ask you for help. You will be faced with the same delimma: do I help them or and if I do, how much.
I have not refused to help people, but I make it clear that if there is any kind of problem, they are responsible. I will not horse around with somebody else's equipment. I will trim it out and help adjust the engine. I learned from experience, where I have been asked to wring out a plank and the wing breaks off in the air because the guy did not put any fiberglass tape in the center section where the wings are joined together.
Regarding helis, I paid my way to learning the basics. I attended Ernie Hubers school. I paid the local expert to help me with my XL custom graphite which was too much for me as beginner and ended up getting a Raptor.
It is hard to say what happened to your heli. Maybe you got interference, maybe the battery was low, who knows. The bottom line is that it your responsibility to learn the hobby, and sometimes you get what you pay for. I know this sounds mean, but it the truth. Not many people want to take their flying time teaching others to fly, fixing their heli, trimming their heli, etc.
My suggestion is this: Either attend Ernie Hubers school or hire somebody to devote time solely to helping you and teaching you. Know the qualifications or experience level of who you hire.
Heli flying is not easy, it is a worthwhile achievement when you learn and achieve each goal you set.
