I just received my QJ-8 from Harold at Helicopter Hobbies. He is great to wotk with. Kit looks great, My question is has anyone converted the phillips screws to hex screws? I want to peice together some hex but the instructions don't list the size screws and how many of each.
Yes i did get the cd-rom. It didn't show a seperate page with the list of parts and screws. But i did look further in the detailed instructions of assembly and found the screw sizes. Yes the 2.6mm hex will be hard to find, but i will do some google searching to find them.
I purchased a heli set of metric screws from RTL. They advertise on this site (see main page) or www.rtlfasteners.com. The 2.5mm screws will work. Your only talking about 1/10th of a mm diference in size! Make sure to use blue Loctite.
WebsiteI think 760i just had a typo. the site is www.rcscrewz.com After trying the link, I realized his posting was missing the "c". The site offers an array of screws and other items.

It's better to have flown and crashed than to never to have flown at all.
Remember, be careful how you mount the servos. The direction may be changed now but when I built mine, one of the pictures was backwards. I can't remember which servo it was but I had to take the frame apart after 3/4 of the build was completed! My suggestion would be not to Loctite any frame screws until you are certain everything is placed right. Call me if you have any questions. I am headed to Harold"s this weekend to get the QJ16 airborne!
