My Posts This: Topic Forum | I don't think the trinity is a brushless motor. You'll have to replace the brushes every 7-10 flights and clean the comm also- a real pain. A Hacker 8 or 9L and a schulze 45ho or he controller is the way to go for power. If you fly nitro helis you won't be happy with the VE with a brushed motor and 8 cells. 10 cells is the way to go.
The CSM400 is a big heavy gyro, the gy240 is small and it works better than the CSM ( by most standards) You don't neeed a superservo with the gy240 and it doesn't have that option anyway. Teh gy240 is one pc also.It works fine with a standard servo ,I have a Hitech 81 servo on my VE tail and it holds fine.
A JR rep(Ron Osinski) is testing a new brishless motor setup with the VE that I "think" will allow the use of 7 cell packs with success if it works well for him as he is just testing it now. He(ron) is also selling an upgrade kit that gives the VE more aerobatic capabilities, it costs around 50-55 dollars.
Unfortunately the VE heli as it comes is a real "dog". that is it barely flies with 7 cells and the stock speed controller. To get decent performance out of it you need to spend a couple hundred more dollars. Once it is all decked out though it is a reall fun heli to fly with vertical performance that can surpass an OS32 powered heli with a muffler and 15% fuel in vertical performance. I would suggest you visit this website: http://www.rcgroups.com and search through the 36,000 posts for info on the VE, it will keep you reading for a while and you won't have to make the same mistakes that others have made.
