Looking good. I should have mine done in a few days and I'll throw up a pic or two. What cells are you running?

You're gonna love it! Have you decided on a setup?

The cells are 15C Emoil li-on cells from a drill. The pack costs around $100 and puts out awesome power, comparable to the Thunder Power 6s2p 4200 Pro-lites ($330 battery!) AND can be charged @ 2C. Check this thread out for more info

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=456011

The cells are slightly smaller then the TP cells but this is compensated for by adding another cell which brings the current draw down while increasing power and duration.

My setup won't be optimum by any stretch but hopefully it will be a fun little sport ship. I already have a bundle in a couple T-Rex's and of course my ION. I decided to build the Swift for now with what I had on the shelf, a Mega 22/45/3, P60 ESC and I'll be using IB3800 rounds probably 14 to 16 cells. Maybe later this summer I'll spring for some lipos and a Neu.

Emoil cells. Interesting. I'll have to look into that.

Hey,

The braided sleeving in the UK is available from Maplins and it's marketed for tidying up computer wiring.
Comes in a packet of various sizes and with appropriate heat shrink tubing to finish off the ends.

Very nice Genovia! When do you expect them to be available? I would also like to see a metal headblock (not for vibes, but from a 3D point of view)

Chris,

The upgrades are in the works and will on their way soon, I do not know the exact ETA, but from the buzz and what I over heard, management are working the extra mile to get to the upgrades to end users as fast, and as early as they can.

I do not have a clue if there is going to be a metal head block, assuming if there is, it will be a grand design and light for 3D. One of the Team Leader in Camp Century is work hard, making the Swift his passion, so do not be despair..

Hey Chris,

What kind of times are you getting with your V28 pack with just sport flying (no 3d)? Also what kind of charger are you using. Seeing your video has got me excited about a bigger heli. Especially with a $100 dollar battery.

Thanks for the info and the video!

hey chris: the rcg link is 45 pages. since you've got a v28 pack running can you give us the reader's digest for your setup?

where do you get the packs? available at homedepot, etc. yet?

did you just crack the pack and solder up the tabs? any special circuitry in there?

any special charging technique other than 2C is fine?

thanks...my eyes already hurt from too much reading today

if it ain't broke…break it.

I did ask at HomeDepot and they said they are not carrying them yet. They said there is a 800 we can call to find out
