Do you know the manufactures web site who makes these? Ive never been a fan of the shogun or zoom, most people on runryder say there terible helicopters, will this micro helicopter fly better?

FreshAir, is your new frame going to replace the orginal as a new version soon?

The original frame is not stiff enough and is made only for Pino Servo's,(8,5 x 19 mm) in this frame all servos, up to 22mm are possible and it is very easy to maintance.

FhreshAir MIA must have inspired you with their retrofits. I see you are also making similar ones.

This is the ligthest I have been able to get my Pocket Zoom while remaining with a frame with similar frame shape to the stock one. Except this one from MIA Micro-FLIGHT takes the following sub-micro servos, Pino, E-Hobby, Blue Bird, and has plenty room for ANY RC package including larger and different shape batteries. The MIA LG on this frame is the lightest also, the original molded ones look nicer but come with weight penalty. Lighter helis fly better and my PZ with MIA retrofits flies a lot lighter and is tougher too.

This elite frame/CNC LG made by MIA in 2002 for a MIA Sub-Micro heli will also work with the Pocket Zoom.

I always liked the simple, clean details on MIA Retrofits, look carefully at the "clean" and smooth curved bends on the aluminum skids and the beveled finish on the tips, compared those with the stock PZ skids and the PZ ones look like they were put on a square block and bent over.

Look also at the MIA G10 frame and LG how well CNC crafted these parts are. The angles and overall appearance on this particular frame, height, width, footprint and overall proportions, defines a trademark of MIA's unique attention to detail and craftsmanship.

I do like the Pocket Zoom's mechanical parts, they are much smoother than any heli I own.

@ Mosca
You own a MIA frame for MZ ?!
Here are Mario's words:
I am not doing frames for single sales, that is the other reason you may not have seen pricing on them. I am only making them in batches of 100 units for dealers. This makes better use of my machines' time and I can provide better pricing to Hobby shop dealers. Is this Pocket Zoom heli popular enough for dealers to want retrofits for it? I am not sure, I have not been putting too much emphasis on following up on this Pocket Zoom heli. I think it is too heavy, stock, and has a much higher potential to cause damage, not only to itself and things , others around if it comes in contact with. Because it is too heavy it requires the high rotor speed and more brute power, something that has always driven me away from much larger helis, and now even smaller ones like the Pocket Zoom, coolness of it put aside.

I am not advertising, as I used to, because my work is always busy and in the little spare time I have, I too like to have fun with my own designs too..

Robl45,

MIA made a small batch of trial clear G10 frames for the PZ and offered them exclusively and privately to some folks that wrote to MIA. They are no longer making retrofits "in small quantities", or as trial, free samples as MIA use to, before.

See MIA quote by FreshAir, Minimum 100 quantities to dealers only, this is not much really, because the frames are so small and take up very little material, but considering MIA is still a real small business and not a hobbiest selling to hobbiests, industrial CNC machines' time on say 10 units can get expensive, when you use the same machine to do other more serious work, reason for the minimum quantities.

You might want to contact your local Hobby Shop and ask them for MIA products. If they don't carry and want to carry MIA stuff, have them contact MIA directly at MIADSGNS@COX.NET.

I'm still not convinced the PZ is all that popular to justify the numbers required for MIA to seriously offer the G10 Frame/TUFF (TM) Struts /Skids retrofits for it, as MIA did and still does for the Piccolo, Hornet, Hummingbirds, some Micro Clones, Trex and 400 Zooms. However, you never know, things change sometimes.
