dancing swashplates?

My Ch-46 is doing the same thing with the swashes dancing. How do you get them to stop? The more head speed the worse it gets. everything is by the book,and even when i change things it doesen't have any effect. HELP?

One of the oher guys on this forum gave me the idea, you need to get some CSM gyro mounting pads & a flat peice of steel heavier than the gyro, cut the mount pads in to small squares approx 5mm, stick them on to the steel plate near to the cormers, stick the gyro on to the otherside of the steel plate & put the whole thing back in to the heli, it looks & feels too spongy but it works really well.

Using this system my heli is now rock soild at 1700rpm.

Give it a go I hope this helps.

ch-46radio setup

I got my CH-46 hovering decent, but is anyone using a JR 10X radio? What settings are people running and what are you running in the TR-SVMIX? Yaw is almost not there. I have to keep compensating for the yaw , side to side. Most of everything else is under control I think. If I get the yaw under control I think I'll have it wooped! Any info would be appreciated.

Are you guys using a govenor on the Chinook?

Mine flies relatively well but I haven't installed a govenor and was wondering what the consensus is on using this for the Hirobo Chinook.

I run a TJ pro set @ 1600 for hover, 1700 for flying, the heli seems much more predictable due to the fact that the TR-SVmixer has much less to do because of the constant head speed. climb decent & hover are all quite stable.

I would recommmend you try it, no more messing around with throttle curves, just set the pitch & your head speed, thats it.

The engine does need to be set-up first other wise the governor will cover up any incorrect carb settings.

Ch-46 rudder control

the rudder on my 46 is very unpredictable, one minute it goes left one minute right. I'm a little scared to do more than hover because the tail, its real real slow. i know it wont be like the pod and boom, but how are you guys fling around without working the rudder stick to death? I have uped the ATVs and put more expo into it to make it more sensitive, which has helped. Is anybody using a JR 10X radio? and if so what are your settings. this thing is giving me to many sleepless nights!!HELP!!

I am not able to help you much. I am using JR9303. my guess would be different collective settings on both rotors. You can check.
Soft mounting for gyro is only a cover, yes i am using it, for main rotors balancing. gyro mounting is another try
I am using pretty much standard settings, i did changes recommended on this topic and i am happy with it. i did notice yaw axis being dependent on collective settings slightly. most visible during lift off. it is fully manageable and with flying around with no crazy collective input almost i can't see it.

Try to get help from one of big boys - Jeff Green should be able to say something. It might difficult without seeing it in person.

I just discovered that if you overdrive the servos with a TRSV-MIX displayed out-put value of more than plus or minus 180 the effected servo will loose the signal & will have no power, thus causing a crash and or injury.

More of an explanation.
I have a Chinook fitted with 6 Futaba 9252 servos, whilst performing a pre-flight I noticed "RP" servo appeared to be dead, ie you could move it by hand but only when you cornered the stick full up collective & full left aileron, with TX ATV value's of 150% l&R rudder, 150% U&D elevator & 150% U&D collective, this should not happen.

I checked the servo input voltage & it is present in this condition, I changed the cell pack, I changed the servos, still the same.

Has anybody else experienced any issues with the mixer unit, it is like the trsv-mixer gets to a certain output value & is unable to provide the servo with a signal therefore the servo stays still,if you bring the stick back so that the ouput value drops below 180 (as displayed on the screen)the servo comes back to life & appears to function normally.

Not good, your input is required, please check your Helicopters TRSV-MIX output values & let me know.

Hello,

I too have a CH-47 and I also encountered the "dancing swashplate" problem. It didn't prevented me to fly as I was running at faster headspeed values (this occurs only around one particular engine speed). But doing so didn't help the front rotor servos (which are near the engine). One of the servos died, probably due to vibrations (luckily enough not causing my chinook to crash).

So I think we all have to be very careful with the headspeed on this machine. I've made some flight tests this morning with new servo and a reduced speed and the chinook is doing pretty well now

Can anybody tell me if P/N 0402-591 SE main gear 77T ($50) & P/N 0403-219 main gear 77T ($6) are interchangable?

Its for a CH-47 Hirobo Chinook, manual P/N is the 0402-591.

I am new to r/c helicopters, but not to r/c flying and am taking on the Chinook as a project I was wondering has anyone thought about the possibility of adding a functioning rear cargo door to the chinook for scale effect if even possible Thanks.

It's been a while since I updated this thread, but I think I finally have the programming for the electronic mixing figured out. I haven't done much with my CH-47 after my Raptor kept getting radio interference and had several crashes. I didn't want my chinook to end up in the ground. Also I haven't had much free time since moving to California.

I'm getting ready to Fly and should have some video soon.... really.. I will.

Looking foreward to the video.

I was flying my Chinook the other day and it is really a whole other animal from the pod and boom heli. Much more difficult to truly control.

Let us know if you figure some tricks/tips that can tame it and make it easier to fly.
