My Posts This: Topic Forum | The rotation of the rotor head causes a slight interaction between the cyclic axis controls because of the gyroscopic effect of the rotating mass. Using the sticks, we can eliminate most of the gyroscopic interaction, but not all of it.
In helicopter flight, the incidence of rotation ALWAYS preceeds the incidence of movement. In layman's terms, the helicopter will ALWAYS tilt before it moves in ANY axis. Looking at the clip in slow motion, there was NO delay between the introduction of control and the physical movement of the machine ..... in reality, this is NOT possible.
The simulator looks good, but because of this lack of interaction, it is not really accurate enough for some pilots. It looks, however, to be a good starting simulator. |
