OK as we've all read in this forum Hitec HS-55s don't work in a Blade CP unless you use a Computer Radio(DX6, 6102, etc.)< but for those of you who want to use them withthe stock radio they can be reversed. I send three of mine to Hitec and their Service guys reversed all three for $10. Plus shiiping of course, but that beats a $200+ radio. I know someone will say why didn't you just put HS-55 gears in Eflite servos. Basically because i didn't want to. Just thought i'd pass on this info. By the way their customer service is TOP NOTCH!!! I sent the servos out on Jan. 18 got them back today. and i'm on the other side of the country.

New one to me. I am using a Futaba 7CHP.
Replaced my worn-out eflight servos a few months ago with 3 HS-55's I had. Did have to reverse the direction on the transmitter.
Using the stock 4-1.

Can you explain a bit about this? Why can't you use HS-55's in a stock setup? They can't be reversed? I use them in my HB, but then I have a 9303 so that might be why I haven't noticed.

HS-55s In Blade CP

Yes, i can explain. When using the Stock TX with the Hs-55s even using the reversing switches. It still would not have the proper mixing. Instead of the swashplate moving down like when given throttle it would go up. With the 9303 and the other fancier TX you can change this( i think it's called cyclic or something). Now with having them revrsed internally the Stock TX settings are just as the manual show. This help any??

Aron,
Certain manufacturers have their servos go as an example clockwise with a lengthening pulse from the Tx while others have theirs rotate counter clockwise with the same signal. Hitec HS55 and the eFflite servos are examples of this. Plug them both into the same channel and give a signal. One will rotate clockwise and the other counter clockwise. The direction of rotation can be changed by reversing the two outside wires on the potentiometer and on the motor. Back in the Dinosaur days before servo reversing became common on transmitters we used to reverse servos for certain applications.

stratusfear02,
Yes indeed! Proud member of the Maryland Helicopter Association. We were out yesterday afternoon. Weather could not have been better. Hardly any wind and around 60 degrees. Last March when I showed up with my electrics no on else was flying one. Yesterday there were 4 electrics and 3 nitros
Come on down and fly with us sometime.
Gary

EDIT: I will be heading up to GPA this afternoon for some supplies. He just got a bunch of Blade stuff in stock

Gary,
I remember those days when some pretty fancy linkages had to be made to get a servo to work in the direction you needed or rewire them as you said.
I can still remember having to bring the miniboy in over the top of the brontosaurus to get to the landing strip...LOL

In the olden days, they even sold 'reversed' servos,,,, and years before that, servos had slide outputs, one each direction, rather than rotary outputs as now,

and for you really old guys, my first radio was a proportional called a Space Control,,,,,,,,,,,used two frequencies for two of the servos, and percentage mix of the frequencies for the third channel, and frequency of changing the frequencies for the fourth channel.

Worked well, and had three sevros and Rx in a 'bricklike' case, about the size of a brick too,,,,,,,,

I had one of the Proline 6 channel single stick radios with the big servos with the dual slides, it could also be changed to the rotary style by replacing the top on the servo... When I fist started there was an old timer that was an electrical guru, that would show up at the field to fly his planks with an old tube radio and he also used a clicker for one of his planks... one click for up two clicks for left etc.... He was a real craftsman, He built a 60 size scale karavan jet ranger I think that's when I got the bug for helis....
