Hi All,

Arnie, if you need some close ups of my heli's tail assembly let me know. Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words

I did cut a tail shaft a little longer than the 3dpro stock one I wanted to use. this gave me good deflection in both right and left rudder control.

I'm not convinced this was required, but it's the way I went.

Cheers,
Leslie

Leslie,
Yes please send me a picture or two. I'm using the Trex tail assy CRB recommended. As soon as I spin up the tail grips slid completely off the the tail assy. I stand correct if it's my fault. I'm happy with the kit it's great. I like the looks of mine.

Thanks,

Arnie

Hi Arnie,

Do you mean the tail slider is falling off the tail shaft? Grips to me means the blade holder thingy-dingys.

Before you go crazy, go over to the trex forum and look at the top of the page for the blue banner that says 'important, instruction, interesting. there is a set of videos that Bob 'finless' White made for the trex.

Check out the tail setup one. It explains how to setup the tail servo and slider travel etc. It's wicked good for all heli's not just rex's.

I will post some pics too. You will want to bookmark these videos for review when you get your SE

Cheers,
Leslie

Leslie,
I have a folder on my desktop with all the finless videos. I looked at the video you suggested before you posted this. The blade grips holder with the set screw is fine it is the bladegrips with the tail rotors that slide off of the holder with the set screw as I spin up.

Hi Arnie,

I posted some close ups in my gallery. I hope these help.

I had a problem with the hub sliding off the tail shaft. I had oil on the shaft. I cleaned with rubbing alcohol and put the hub back on with loctite on the grub screw, liberally so some went through to the shaft.

Good luck, holler if you need anything

Cheers,
Leslie

Thanks Leslie,
Duh! the tail blade grips need screws just like the main blade grips. Yeah what a yo yo I am. I still can't hover yet. There is too much play in the tail slider I'm using futaba 3107 servo which should be torquey enough. CRB is workng on a cnc tail case I might have to start over. I just need some time to think this out and I'll be flying.
