Update

Please add yourself to this thread if you are an owner of a Quick Japan heli. We need to know how many we are and how fast our helis are breeding.

Add me too, its still in its box though, waiting on Gary/Anni's SE stretch kit. Hope it comes along soon, the thing keeps shouting 'build me' every time I walk past it.

Warning...This hobby is very addictive and may damage your wealth

Hey Roland!

That is a really cool picture of you flying your QJ-8 inverted!
Have you ever tried autorotation with it? If you have, how did it work?

Thanks for the pic!

Hello TYREE.

Thanks for you comment.

Of course you can autorotate with EP-8V2 with ease, but keep in mind that EP-8V2 has no Autorotation Gear and you can not control the Tail gear while autorotation.

In case of previous "Nanda(Carbon Composite)" Roter which included in the kit was somewhat hevier, but shows quite stable hovering features, also autorotate well, but newly Wooden Rotors are 38% lighter then that of Carbon, good for 3D acrobatic, more dynamic, less merit of Autorotation.

Once I;ve tried this with Wooden, but the Rotor RPM was decreased quicky, almost crashed but managed to save the heli, so I do never autorotate again with Wooden one.

and here is yet another one!

in fact thinking about expanding the fleet with another EP8...

Roland the white blades I see on one of the EP8's, who makes them? Or are they original Quick of Japan?

I'm also a candidate for the canopy once it hits the shelves!!

Hello Ingo.

It is made by one of Korean Company(SWRC), composed with fully FRP with highest quality, but unfortunately, non-symmertric airfoil, originally designed for Mini F3C Pattern, good for pattern flying but also available 3D.

The Weight is ~32g...really light weight glass fiber rotor, but has 7.8mm thick at Root, so I have to add 1.1mm thick washer on both Top and Bottom.

the Price may be 40~45USD/pair.

I think you can see these FRP Rotors in some Web- Sites such as EP-8.com and other sites...

Thanks.

Hi Roland,

Thanks for the info about autorotation! As I only have the new wooden blades from Quick ... I will not try it until I get some other blades.

Your new canopies sure look nice....I like the shape!
Will you have a distributor in the US?

Thanks Roland,

Ty

Saving

Heli J, I hear ya man. I think that I may opt to get the 16 once I can putz around with my 8. I have a QWW EP10 that I'll also be putzing around with but I know it's a tank so we'll see what happens. I've heard, though, that if you strecth it with the 16 boom kit, it's a very capable heli. Right now, I just wanna get "SUCCESSFULLY" airborn. I'm gonna be in RADD's School of Rotary Flight for a while until I've gotten the hovering orientations down.

Ken

It's better to have flown and crashed than to never to have flown at all.

Ken, you will enjoy flying this bird! It just flies as stated on the box. However, refrain from modding the flybar for the time being... Wait til you gain more experience... It will be a success! In fact I just put in an order for a second one with Anni. Number next will be a more high performance machine - built over time...

ENJOY! Ingo

Well if you want my advice i say its pretty clear

hacker a30-12xl on 9 cells
CC 45-HV
9650 or 9254 on the tail
Stretch it with the stretch kit Gary and i are working on
Run the MS 420mm blades
Longer main shaft for more pitch range
72mm Sab tail blades
put the 325mm flybar on it with maybe some raptor paddles or maybe even 30/50 size CF paddles
6 volt BEC for the swash servos for that bit of extra speed

That should be a sweet machine

BTW, a tip for anyone thinking about getting the sab 72mm tail blades.

1) for the tail blades you need spacers. Two of the align aluminum spacers used on the feathering spindle are the perfect size and width for this. Actually 4 is what you need. If you already fly trex's you prolly have these lying around.
