exactly as the title reads folks...

wondering what the pinion pitch is for an ECO8

i need a pinion to fit 5mm shaft.... looking for 48pitch.

are the ECO gears 48pitch? sorry, i searched the forum, couldn't find it......

You can get the needed pinion at FXaeromodels.com The pinion is metric They have a mess of the 5 mm pinions. The smallest you can buy is 13T due to the physical limitation of the shaft size and the radius needed to fit the teeth aroun dthe circumferunce. I have heard of people using 48 pitch pinions but I dont believe that is the exact size.

yes i was looking to know what the gear 'size' was... i need a 5mm pinion for a different application and i know the ECO8 has used these 5mm pinions... was hoping the ikarus tooth pitch would line up.

my continued research online reveals.......

ikarus gearing is .5 modules (english standard unit of measurement for 'gear mesh' )

the application i was looking for was 48 pitch (metric unit of measurement)

.5 modules is VERY VERY close in measurement to 48 pitch. its my understanding that they will be compatible... but there will be a VERY slight inefficiency and extra wear on spur gear for my application.

so i will buy up a couple ECO8 pinions and try them out (1/18th scale PTI crawler truck).
