I would say It would be a chip upgrade.I also agree with a3holerman about the c/10 rate just like I was trying to explain earlier in this post.I also read that trickle charging is not recomended and can damage the batteries. It is only recomended for topping off a battery after sitting for an extended period of time. These batteries naturally dicharge them selves in around 30 days +.That is one of the down falls over nicd's but nicds can develope what they call dendrites shorting them out completely.I read that any lower than a rate of c/2 may damage nimh cells, more so for button and cylindrical shaped cells. When properly broken in with a rate of c/10 they can fully achieve there rated capacity and should be discharged and repeated at least twice. After that they can be safely charged at a rate of c to 1.5 x c and a fast charge not to exceed 2.5 x c.Temperatures chould be closely monitored and never reach higher than 35-45 degrees C.Failure to monitor these will result in failure. These batteries in my book are awesome but care must be taken.Once you get into the swing of things it will be like second nature....

I use an Apex charger. I have 2700mah pack in my Raptor 30, Raptor 60, Piper Cub & had in my now deceased Kyosho Skylane. No problems with any of the packs. Charge em up once and fly almost all day. If you leave them sitting for a few weeks without being used I recommend that you hit the charge cycle 2-3 times. They seem to false peak the first time around, but that may also be my charger, the voltage/ampere/capacity switch seems to be acting up on the charger, its a few years old.

I lost my infamous tag line.

Why wonder ?

I switched to Orbit MICROLADER V6.0 for my sanyo 2700 mAh nimh and 3000 mAh nimh JR Extra and never looked back.
I FORMATED the new packs a couple of times to even out the cells.
From then on I'd fly all day (6+ flights on R60) and Reflex (top-off) the packs overnight. I also use the PC interface to monitor pack health.

I used the SuperNova on my nimh packs and got false peaks. I did'nt want to dinker around wondering if it did the job. I wanted a charger that works as ADVERTISED !

Why pay $130 - $160 for SuperNova class chargers when you can get a good, solid product for about $200.
