What size of the Main blade do you use?
I tried
1) the original wooden blade(286mm),
2) CF 280mm,
3) CF 290mm,
4) CF 303mm ( Funkey ).

I found CF 290mm could provide the best performance I am looking.
When I fly with CF 280mm (28T/30T/32T), the response of my EP400 is very slow...just like the GP heli with a very rich needle. After I change to CF 290mm, I can say it is like 50% power up. I can fly my EP400 like flying my GP heli ...
I also tried CF 303mm but it was a way too long. The main blade really can touch the tail blade......very scary man...

WOW IS ALL I CAN SAY ABOUT THE JUST GO FLY 400DH. I HAD A BAD THING HAPPEN LAST WEEKEND I COULDNT FLY. CAUSE I WAS FLYING THE HELL OUT OF THE BRUSHED MOTOR AND THE WORST HAPPEN NO POWER I CHANGED THE BRUSHES TWICE AND STILL A NO GO. SO A BUDDY OF MINE WENT TO A LHS. AND PICKED UP THE DH FOR ME AND WHAT AN EYE OPENING EXPIERENCE. WITH A 22T PINION I HAD OVER 2400HS AT 80% THROTLE. NOW THE CALIBER IS THE BEST E-HELI I HAVE SEEN. I DID RUN INTO 2 PROBLEMS THOUGH I HAD MY GYRO MOUNTED UP FRONT HIDDEN AWAY(HAD TO MOVE CAUSE OF INTERFERENCE)AND NOW WAS WAYYYYYYYYY TO TAIL SO HAD TO MAKE THE SAME FROMT MOUNT AS DAVE. THE LAST READING WITH HELIBOB AND TEDDY AT THE HOBBY WAS 3150 SO I HAVE DIALED IT DOWN TO 70%. I DONT WANT THE HEAD TO FLY OFF. BUT I MUST SAY IT WAS AS STABLE AS THE AND DONT LAUGH XRB.

ADDICTED TO HELIS ~ too much FUN

I bought the CF 290mm in China.
Its packing shows english name "Hawk" only but no website. It is very simple packaging...only polybag ... 一.一"
The shop I bought the CF 290mm main blade had its own website but I had a hard to login sometimes.

I just bought a metal pitch servo holder and a metal bearing holder (main shaft bearing) today... will take some pictures soon tonight ...

Last night I checked www.kyosho.it where shows something different from my EP400 ... metal ball inside swashplate(mine is white plastic), white main gear (mine is black), silver metal hub (mine is black plastic)....

I bought all my metal parts from selecthobby@nevigator.com in Hong Kong. If you are interested in those parts I bought, it's better you all place your order from him. If you still have a hard time to contact him, simply let me know and I will try my best to help you out.

Right now I have a problem with the pitch...the feeling of the pitch is not too accurate, it has much more play now then before and everytime when I pitch up or down, it responses later then my stick. Should I change all plastic parts of the pitch system? ... it is painful .

I feel the life of the plastic parts of EP400 is too short for me.
I flied 2 T-Rex (450XL & 450X) last night in a tenis court. Very nice control, everything moved firmly ... no play ... no delay ... but just not as stable/solid as EP400 ...

For me, the different feeling of flying EP400 & T-Rex is kinda like flying Sceadu50 & Raptor50.

I also made a little mod at the EP400 tail pitch lever which made its tail run very firmly ... no more play at the tail now ...

By the way, can I use JR371 servo to be rudder servo?

I just went brushless. 400DH with mm32 ESC. 2400 rpm no load with the original 20th pinion. I may go with the 22 pinion after I do some flying this weekend (I hope). I lost 2.5-3 oz of weight by changing out to the 400DH

Try 23 or 24 tooth with the 400DH -- I'm using a 23T and like it. IF you haven't already done so, move the battery up into the canopy, it makes a world of difference.

That is what I am thinking ... even my EP400 is still running.

I got two more flights on the EP400 today. Almost dead calm, about 45 degrees F, overcast. These are the two best flights I've had so far, no problems, just plain fun. I need to back off on the tail rotor control, this thing wants to spin like a dynamo if you give it full rudder. Unbelievable.

The 400DH continues to perform flawlessly, as do the TP2100 ProLites. No glitches, flies solid. Loops, rolls, flips and inverted are almost too easy.

xchurchx -- I'll keep an eye out for slop if it develops. Too bad you're having trouble with this little heli. But it sure would be nice if some head upgrades were to appear on the horizon soon.

xchurchx --

I know you're getting put off the EP400 -- but have you figured out WHAT it is that's binding? Is it the Z-bend stuff getting sloppy in the holes in the various mixing levers? Would replacing those Z's with balls make your EP happy again? Is the binding coming from somewhere else? I've been wondering if it would be worth it to take some T-rex links, balls, and rods and see how easy it would be to get real ball links in the head.

I hadn't shopped for T-Rex balls to do an upgrade...$25 sounds a bit steep, but if that's what the traffic will bear, I guess you're stuck. I guess the balls, links, and rods all add up. I wonder how many spare balls I have in my spare parts bin...

I've seen people cob together a dual-fork tail pitch slider on a T-Rex (before the Align folk came out with their own). They drilled a hole in the top of the slider and installed a second pin - 180 degrees out from the existing pin. They then used some plastic parts to add a fork to the top of the stock TR bellcrank to fit the new pin. The top and bottom pin made the TR slider work much smoother.

I already sawed the plastic balls off my swashplate and replaced them with T-Rex balls. Works a lot better.

I'm not clear which links to which you refer as "cyclic lever" links. If you can be a bit more specific, I can take a peek at mine and get at least two brains working on the solution.

I've not seen a T-Rex SE in person, I've seen a lot of close-up pics, however.

Are those the plastic paint stirrers that ship in the T-Rex kits? If so, I have a few pair. What's their performance like?
