I have cc10 for main motor. The motor starts spinning at about 1/4 throttle.

Would adjusting the EPA for channel 3 fix this?

Thanks,
Awais

It might work. Why not just give it a try?

You might be able to just raise the throttle trim too, either with the digital trim tab, or with one of the side levers.

Blade cp and optic 6 fixed pitch and collective settings.

I'm trying to figure out how to program for collective. I got the fixed pitch pretty well tuned using the info from previous post(Thanks) but now I'm trying to get the collective working. Any ideas? Thanks

Hey guys, how do you get the 4in1 to arm after programming your Optic 6? Mine won't arm at throttle=0.

Drop your throttle trim down to about -20.

Yep, a friend of mine just figured that out I actually just modified the EPA for channel 3 vs. the trim. Thanks!

I got it running in normal mode now, and it feels amazing silky. Felt completely better. I'm amazed at how just changing some curves can make it so much more responsive. I definitely recommend upgrading to a computer TX even if you don't do anything else.

Can't wait to program idle-up 1 tomorrow after the TX recharges.

Is this a good battery replacement for the Optic 6?

http://www.batteryspace.com/index.a...PROD&ProdID=260

If so, can I use the charger that comes with it or do I need to charge it using a separate NiMH charger?

leftspin, I know I'm going to catch some flak for this, but I use an 8 AA stick pack holder from RadioShack: http://www.radioshack.com/product/i...rentPage=search ($1.89)

And just normal NiMh AA 2400mah batteries in my 9CHP, some hitec radios even have the spring tabs so you don't have to make any adapters up (my laser4 I just got from a friend is this way, it has both tabs and a connector).

The downside of using a battery holder, is that the connections can corrode eventually, and the springs can relax, but periodic inspections are enough to handle this (I know people who have been using battery holders for a very long time without problems).

The upsides of a battery holder are, you can charge/condition/test the cells individually as needed without having to solder, and you can swap out individual cells or all the cells if you want (and the batteries remain useful elsewhere, like remotes, walkmans etc).

My 2400mah AA's cost me $18 for 8 at Fry's, so for $20 you can increase your capacity and convience at the same time (for me it was 4x the capacity of the pack that came stock with my radio).

Does anyone know how to fix this? I have the same issue and didn't see a response.

My Swash does the same thing and can't figure out how to fix.

Now I've got another more perplexing problem in trying to setup Optic 6 in my Blade CP. I have a firm understanding of pitch/throttle curves and how to program them. Trouble is, the servos don't exactly seem to be following the curve. This is my first "real" heli radio
I'm just trying to program normal mode right now. I followed the Hitec manual's suggested pitch curve for normal mode. As I advance the collective the pitch goes from approximately 0 degrees to -3 degrees, and then quickly increases above +5degrees. My point is that I do not seem to have the linear curve I have programmed and it really makes for dangerous flight characterstics in normal mode. Why is the collective decreasing for approximately the first half of the stick's travel?
I swear this is not what I have programmed the curve to do.
Anyone?
Thanks, Brett

Here is another one found on HITEC website.

Rookie heli pilot and Hitec user question/problem.

I have a brand new Optic 6 w/o spectra, talking to an Electron 6 on a micro heli with a 120 deg swashplate.

I set up the basics by the book and viola' everything works perfectly.

Then I setup the pitch curve, by the book, to give me a reference. Now the plot thickens... When I increase the throttle/pitch stick from 0 to 1/2 way the swashplate every so slightly moves negative. after the 1/2 way point on the stick the servos reverse direction and go positive. If I leave the pitch curve default, the servos do not reverse.

I have reset and started from scratch several times but I am still getting the same result. Whaat am I missing?

HERE is the Fix
These are blade pitch settings, not radio point percentage settings. Try these settings to start with. Adjust these 3 points at first until things are working correctly then you can activate points 2 and 4 to fine tune the 1/4 and 3/4 stick settings.

1 0% - -2~3 degrees blade pitch
2 INH
3 50% - 5~6 degrees blade pitch
4 INH
5 100% - 9~10 degrees blade pitch

Thank you,

by setting it the way you suggested, I could see that it worked differently. It turns out the hover/pitch/trim was causing it to go negative. I haven't got to that part of the book yet lol.

When I set it to the middle of the slider everything works as expected.

Bryant

p.s. love the radio. it replaces my old futaba 4 channel and i can run all my stuff on it without the time consuming setup.

Bryant, did you get your problem solved? If you still have a problem with swash movement not being linear, check my post back on 12/30/05. My bet is that you're flying in Normal mode, but the swinging levers near the top of the tx aren't in the same position every time. I found that I had to keep them full down (swung towards the bottom of the tx) otherwise I got a weird exponential travel to the swash. Keeping them exactly centered was too much trouble, and keeping them fully up put in that weird expo. Some people have taped those levers down to keep them from moving. Since I only use Normal mode to spool up and flip to Idle-up at midstick before taking off, those levers don't really affect me as they're inactive in Idle-up.
