BEWARE OF THE GUY THAT GOES BY THE NAME MILLERMAN. His real name is Jason Miller. He screwed me out of $750. I bought a Century Bell 222 from him. When it arrived at my house it had been destroyed during shipping. I immediately emailed Millerman pics of the damage asking him to start a claim with the USPS. After a month of waiting he finally emailed me back to say that he had lost the insurance receipt and there was nothing he could do. He actually told me to go to Wal-Mart and get a fiberglass repair kit!!! If you could see the damage you would be furious being told that. Now he refuses to work this out and won't return my phone calls or email. The USPS will not deal with me since I am not the purchaser of the insurance, so I now have a $750 piece of junk. I understand if he has money problems but he won't work with me AT ALL.

I have kept all the emails and receipts of payment, plus I have his phone number, address, and name and I also will be calling his local police department. Just wanted to warn everyone because he has other items for sale. If anybody knows of anything I can do please help. Below are some of the emails.

Hi mxil1
Hey just heard back, ya dont know what to say, they need the auctual reciept, I think its kinda dumb since I had a clear copy of it ohh well, other than that I have little funds here , I just invested in more snow removal equipment and waiting for some good snow to come , so I cant help ya there, if you want go back to the post office and get your heli back, then go to wal-mart or a store and get a fiberglass repair kit , it will take some time but if you take the time to do it right you can restore the damage like it was not even there, its not hard it just takes patience. Other than that I will never buy a heli over the inernet or sell again after seening that, You know as well as I do that was packed good. anyways I did my part, feel free to get back if you have any questions. Thanks Jason

Hi mxil1
Hey there, still waiting for the postmaster to get back to me, I accedently threw away the auctual reciept of the insurance, but I had a copy of it , there policy is that you can only make a claim with the auctual reciept, but I told them that I lost it and if they could still do somthing about, so waith to here back, its been a week now and heard nothing yet. Thanks Jason

Hi Millerman

I haven't heard from you in a while. Can you give me a status of the claim?

Thanks for the warning about that guy. I feel sorry for you, getting a broken up helicopter. You should have refused the delivery if there was damage to it. When I get something delivered to me I open it up in front of the deliverer and if something is wrong or broken durring delivery, I do not accept it. I bet the guy didn't even take out insurance on it in the first place? How did you pay for it? I would try to get a refund from your credit card if you can?

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

Sorry to hear about this situation as well and Saint, although it doesn't help much after the fact, gave you some extremely good advice. Either open or, if the package is obviously damaged, no matter how insignficant it appears, refuse delivery and get a receipt from USPS or whoever attempted delivery. That puts the ball squarely back in their ball park. However, that's only a small part of this issue.

The remarks about getting a fiberglass repair kit and the fact that the seller is short on cash are out of line. His line to you should be, send me the damaged heli back and I will settle with USPS and will refund your money or offer an explanation and advise when he will be able to pay you back. That's the long and short of it. Everyone comes up short on occasion and, I would think if that is the case, he would offer to work something out with you. If you still have the packaging, check it for a blue insurance tag. There is a number on that tag (if he actually insured it) that can be tracked back to when and where the insurance was obtained and he should be able to make a claim based on that.

You are absolutely correct and should not be stuck with damaged goods and the seller's actions so far as you have outlined, are unsatisfactory. Also, you might consider getting the postal inspectors involved as well. If you paid via Paypal, you might have some "limited" recourse there as well.

If he did that, he would have gotten nothing - right? I'm assuming he'd still need that receipt.

I'm curious to know what would happen in that case as I have been getting screwed on shipments lately.

Yea I paid with PayPal. I tried to open a complaint with PayPal but they said it didn't qualify for one. I use PayPal because it is secure and protects you in cases like this, but after this I might as well just sent the guy cash!

If I would have refused it and sent it back I would be out everything. He emailed me a copy of the insurance receipt and there is a blue sticker on the box but the USPS won't deal with you unless you have the original.

I did that and got my money back. Paypal will jerk you around - not to mention they are the 'middle man'. Call your CC company and let them know what happened. Just keep calm and be polite

name is familiar? I would point out to him that should he have taken proper precautions and boxed/padded it in a way that it isn't going to get broken then it wouldn't have happened, he took the risk of bad packaging it should be his problem, as for him loosing the insurance receipt.... tough sh!t to him then, you paid for your shipping insurance too, if he lost it thats not your fault

I've had to dispute two items with PP, the first I tried to go through PP and almost got screwed, then I went through my CC co and got the proper result, second time I didnt even waste my time with PP and went straight to the CC co, they will communicate with PP....trust me they will, you'll get a notice saying a dispute has been opened (as a result of the CC co, its called a chargeback.

Any package that is insured has a tracking number. All you need to do is go the the shipper with all the original packageing and the product and they will be able to process your claim you do not need the slip I have done it before.

Hope this helps!

if it is insured via usps, there will be a blue sticker that says insured on the box with a bar code, if the sticker isnt there, it isnt insured

I had the exact same experience - only it was with 1 item (not two). I ended up getting my money back thru my CC company. Paypal was a little upset about it and they contacted me. They told me to only go thru PP when there is a problem. I laughed, told them they were given the chance, laughed again, and hung up.

Paypal is owned by Ebay, and Ebay is known for screwing people over.

This should have nothing at all to do with PP or the CC company. The product was delivered damaged. This is an issue between the seller and buyer.

I had a problem with MILLERMAN too!!

I bought a computer from him for my dad. First I asked him to ship it to me, then I pm'd him and asked him to ship it to my dad instead, he said ok and he would ship it the next day. Well it went to my address, with someone else's name on it. Not a big deal because I did get it, now I just had to drive the 150 miles to carry it to my dad. I gave it to him early. The problem was there was NO and I mean NO packing materials used. (WHEN YOU ARE SHIPPING ANYTHING you should put something around it!!!) There was nothing but a computer in a box! He did not include the keyboard and there was only an operating system on it when it arrived, he said there would be several progams on it. The computer does work, but the case has a big dent in the side and the plastic latches on the cover got broken and the tabs on the face plate got broken off, so it moves around.

I have pm'd him twice on the matter and I HAVE NOT gotten a response yet!

If he packed your heli like he packed the computer, I can understand why it got damaged.

Mike
