akerkhof,

What do you mean then when you say that the main rotor disc is overlapping with the tail disc? If they cannot strike each other (even under load) how are they "overlapping"?

Having the CG behind the main shaft will force you to add forward cyclic trim, but you will still be out of trim below or above the hovering power setting. The heli will move back on descent and forward on ascent, I'm not sure how noticeable this will be, but consider it.

I'm not noticing any aerodynamic interference (or any other downside) of shortening my tail boom.

Mike

If you envision the main rotor as a disk and the rear rotor as a disk, then looking straight down on the heli, the two disks overlap about a half inch. In other words, the tail rotor is one half inch in the down wash of the main. Even with the blades flexing down enough to cause a boom strike, they will not contact the arc of the rotor, but its the aerodynamics of the thing I'm worried about. I guess that is what I was thinking of with interference, it didn't even occur to me that someone would put the tail rotor so far forward that it could be chopped off!

I agree, being out of balance sucks, but I've got enough power (brushless setup) I could probably just add weight to the nose. I could also modify the canopy so that I can move the battery further forward. But before that, I have a few ideas on better component placement that might help. I'm also using the (quite heavy) GWS heat sink for the tail. I could lose that and see how it does.

cp2 DD Tail upgrade

Just wondering if this will make my tail stable as can be on my stock cp2.. As for now.. Its very waggy.. and the gain is about 100% and could use a little more. Usually just waggy when I'm not flying straight forward. Seems like its most waggy when I'm flying tail in.. or sideways.. or descending in altitude.. I will either try this upgrade first.. Or buy seperates :/

Prop Adapter

Where do I get the prop adapter? I thought I bought the complete package but the prop wont fit on the motor shaft. One would think that it would be supplied in the package
Thanks
