| I think if i remember correctly, Chuck has the locking ring under the main bearing, so it gives more swash travel

That's correct. The locking ring is located above the lower bearing. I also had to add a spacer made from the center of an old main shaft bearing between the locking ring and the lower bearing for clearance.
