Moneypit,
There's a place in Columbus,Hurricane Hobbies.
They had some on the wall last Fri.
Bit of a drive, call them, they might ship.

hogfarmer,
the HS1103 T/R is the same design type as the stock plastic except for the ball mounting. 1 bushing & 1 bearing per grip.
the center hub has spindles for the grips to ride on.

Oh, thanks for the link. Yeah those are the old ones that are no longer available. I guess some stores still have them in stock.

Yes I ordered mine from AllERC.com. They said they will have the blue ones in stock as soon as the bolt issue is sorted out.

Hi everyone, new to the forum. I just got my trex se and wanted to know what's going on with the weak tail hub and what's going to be needed to fix this problem. With the few stories of tail parts flying, I'm not gonna take the chance.

Don't you read the thread your posting to? It says a million times what the problem is and how to fix it. Your Trex 450 SE should have came with replacement screws for the tail. If it didn't I would go back to where you bought it from and ask for them.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

Yes I did read the entire thread and there seems to be two conclusions: replacement screws from andy at align or the microheli tail assembly. I'm asking because the screws might not be good enough as someone had posted earlier a couple of pages back as changing out some of the tail assembly.

FWIW

I just picked up a silver framed SE and it had the black bolts. As a side note, I could NOT pop apart the swash plate.

Tail Slider control Arm

Any body notice the really bad job on the machining tolerance in the 1135 assembly? My tail rotor control (HT4004L) arm is a really bad example of what happens with TOO much SLOP. The hole at the bottom is way too big now and the top fingers has the same problem allowing the tail blades to move about an eight of an inch back and forth with my fingers (the servo is tight). This is with a hand full of flights on a new SE. Gee do you think this would give some tail wag problems? Should I rework it with a ball link fitting like the Hornet II fix? Maby I should by an aftermarket tail hub assembly and only to find soft metal issues after a few flights like everybody else. My main issue with the Trex SE is Aligns geo tolerancing of parts at the factory machining level. ISO 2000 Geo Tol don't apply to the necessity of proper fitting parts for a wanna bee precision machine turning thousands of RPMs and high freaquency vibrations that wear out parts in a few flights. The little cheap bastards don't get it do they? Sure tightening it all up may cost a little more in mfg costs but hell I'd pay a little more for a craft that has a better ware factor on parts that fit better and ware better directly due to the better fitting parts lack of vibration! DUH! Any body have a contact for a NEW tail control arm part #HT4004l? call me direct @ 561.541.5424
Thanks,
Tom J

So...are the new t/r bolts a "hex-head" type? Or, how do I know that I have the good ones?
Thanks,
Kip

Yes they are black socket head caps. The faulty screws that come in the tail are nickel plated phillips head. When I ordered my tail rotor upgrade the nickel plated screws were what was included so emailed Andy at Align about the problem. Ten days later I had the new screws. Very prompt service if you ask me.

Just received my SE today, but haven't had a chance to inspect the tail assembly yet. I've read the whole thread and I think I've gathered that the black hex-head screws are the ones that I want holding the blade grips to the hub, correct?

I've looked through the whole parts list and don't see anything labeled 1127. The tail holder set in my manual is #HT1156, and I've got the new, flanged swash.

I think the V2 SE ships with the fixed ttail bolts, but just look down into the tail blade grips, and if its shiny, then email Andy for replacements, but I could prolly guarantee you, you will see a duller black bolt in there and then its fine....

actually I know its fine because the V2 ships with the new stainless steel hub, and those came out after the bolt snafu, so they have been fixed...

But Honey, I can't live with just stock.....

Mine just flew off today

During my 2nd flight with my SE today, as I was coming down to a hover of about 2 ft I heard a pop and something flew by me. The tail started to spin so I set her down. As she touched down the carbon rod for the rudder servo plops down rite by me. I picked it up and walked up to the helicopter to find that one of the rudder blade and blade holder gone. The rod had snapped off the end links that connect to the servo and tail rotor assembly. The belt was loose now. Not exactly sure what happened but I'm grounded now until I get replacement parts.
