Anni is running the 6S you can PM him on it's performance.

I jumped straight to the 8S which seems to 3d quite well. it struggles a little during tic-tocs & rainbows but i'm thinking to replace the motor with something a little more torquier.

If you're hovering and FF stay with the 3S - perhaps you should be at 3S2P for lengthy flight times.

It's very stable with the 400mm blades - yes. If you want some real nice 3d blades, try to get ahold of some SAB 385mm (intended for the Eolo). I hear they are quite nice (we're having probs getting them).

If you want it to be ridiculously stable - and i'm not kidding about this.. put a Raptor 50 flybar on (yes, it's quite a bit longer) and the stock paddles. If you're a beginner you won't believe how easy it will be to fly this thing with this configuration.

Vendor near VA

Flytech, thanx for posting those AWESOME videos. I'm VERY interested in getting one as I have everything I can imagine necessary to get a QJ-8 or EP-8 in the air. I even have the Raptor 50 flybar

Does anyone know who the closest vendor to Virginia is? I'd like to check one out first hand.

First of all, thank you for your service to our country. The closest vendor for the QJ series of helis is the source in Pageland, SC. You should call Harold at 704-624-6473. I just got off the phone with him so I know he is there. He loves to talk about these helis and he is the exclusive distributor for them in the US.

My daughter lives in Alexandria and I may be up there next week to visit. Her fiance' is in the Army stationed in Arlington (The Old Guard). He is in the field this week so she is lonely and needs her Daddy!! Anyway, like I said, I may be up there so I would be happy to let you fly mine. I take it everywhere I go!!

I'm honored to serve for those, like yourself, who appreciate all this country has to offer. I won't get on that soapbox though... :p I'd love to hook up with you when you get here. I'm about 25 mins away from
Alexandria and could hook up with you there. As far as "FLYING" your heli goes, I don't think that's a good idea. Not that I'm ungrateful or unappreciative, just that I'm "UNSKILLED!" :D I'll bring my lil toy up there and thrash it around and watch & learn as you fly yours. I need a coach and there's no one nearby that can teach me. When I get the EP-8, I'll be the one adding the Raptor 50 flybar and paddles plus using a 12 cell GP3300 pack to ensure max stability and that it's dumb'ed down to the max. Thanx for the info and I hope we can hook up when you get here. Lemme know what'cha plan to do.

1st post and LOVE the QJ-8....im VERY new and cant even hover woth a hoot but i WILL...balde got me back into RC and heli's are what i want to do....

How could us QJ-8 ers start our own group???

Harold is 110% commited and 110% good folk...when i was searching for my GOOD BIRD, i decided the QJ-8 was for me...called Harold and he was soo much help and i ordered my Christmass present on the first call.....Thanks Harold....
