they do much better with a 8 cell nimh pack or a 3cell lithium pack, the 7 cell pack combined with the stock wall huger charger will barely fly like you have found

Mine flew fine, all stock, with the stock battery pack. A two cell lipo (I am using a 1550) will yield a huge increase in power.

At any rate, something is wrong with your machine or your particular battery.

Are you running training gear? I was not, which would help with performance.

with the training gear, it would not go above couple feet, without it maybe 3ft at most. when you had your stock battery where you able to fly around with a stock battery, in a small 10ft diameter circle? would also know what is a better motor to put on? or not worth it?

With the stock battery, you should be able to fly up and around, far beyond 10 feet of altitude. As the battery voltage drops, you will notice that you need to add more right tail rotor to maintain a heading in the hover-this is your que to land.

Converting to a two cell lipo, will add much more performance and flight time. You will need a special charger for the lipo.

I only changed the motor on mine, when I noticed a lack of power after a lot of flying. If the product is new and the motor is defective, contact Hobby People for warrantee service.

On thing that someone on the forum clued me in on, was to remove the sticker on the motor if it is covering the vent holes (mine was) this will help with motor life.

Also, lube the bearings on the motor, the main rotor, the swashplate, and the tail motor (you can probably only get to the gear end of the tail motor) if you have not done so already.

A light machine oil will work fine.

While we're talking about Sabre's anybody know where I can pick up another one without having to purchase kit with tx. I have an XRB for around the house, a Raptor 50v2 that I'm finishing setting up and a Sabre that I fly the hell out of. Problem is I let my friends fly the Sabre and they constantly trash it and I am to the point where I should just pick up another one instead of rebuilding again. This last crash shattered my tail boom and I had my old one CA"d in so I had to saw it off and redrill for new tail boom and it cracked main fuse a bit.
BTW, I've flown with stock Ni-MH's and had no problem at all with gaining altitude. Had it 50 feet in the air at max and constantly fly it at around 25'.
This is such a great little beater heli, I wish it had collective but I hate that the Blade has wooden blades that you constantly have to repurchase if you hit anything. I think I'm going to do the T-REX 450X, just a matter of convincing the wife
Cheers
Andy

does your sabre have the small fiberglass plate under the rotorhead/blades, they do sell the that part with the rotor head, but it was noted as for 'sabre v2'?

The little fiberglass plate is probably a head stiffener. If it is broken, you will probably not notice much in the hover, but it helps keep the nose from pitching up in forward flight.

i flew it last night, noticed as throttle is push to 1/4 stick, the swash moves in a circular motion once then it stablizes, i held the heli in my right hand, and heli seems to have a vibration at half stick and to full throttle,(normal?).but the heli still wont go above couple feet, as my battery or motor might be bad.
