Anni, I couldn't agree more. When I first got the kit, I had a spare Raptor 50 flybar that I stuck into it. I didn't have any greeny paddles yet so I just stuck the stock ones on just to spool it up and maiden it.

The first thing that came to my mind when I saw how stable it was.. was, "Jeez.. where was this thing when I was trying to learn to hover" - It was un-realistically stable (but also docile - which is good when learning)

jetkuo2: Can you pls pass some links on the specs of these motors? I'd like to know what the Kv rating for the 1902-2Y is..

thanks!

guys the 1900 series is 64mm and 320g weight - that's 3 times the weight of the Mega and more than twice the diameter

would this not be too much?

thatnks flytech for the tip about modding the flybar to sedate her..

I know you guys are talking motors at the moment, but this morning I just installed a full size Futaba 9254 digital servo on the tail to match the 401 of my QJ8 and I am so blown away by how great this heli has become. Its just so rock solid. If any of you guys are considering this type of upgrade you wont be disappointed.

twinring,

Did you mount the 9254 servo to the frame or did you install a tail boom mount?

I mounted it on the boom using a K&S 770 universal servo mount.

I called Quick here in Japan today to order a spare set of blades. Turns out that the **** fibers will no longer be produced. The contract with the supplier in Korea has been terminated. Replacement blades will be made in Japan but they will be wood and not CF. Looks like Ill have to fork over the money to buy a set of MS Composites or SABs

Thats correct and also the canopies which were made in China are done and they will now be making plastic blown canopies from now on. The old blades and canopies are history

these are the two parts that are always out of stock here. Its too bad they will be using matierials of lesser technology, they were like the icing on the cake. I hope they redesign the windshield on the new canopies to sweep back like a cool pair of sunglasses...

Wanderer

For a motor one could use the wanderer 16L17. Cheap ( €83.- ) and seams to be close to a Lehner, except on the max amp it's less efficient.

I believe they have merged with Helicopter Hobbies (helicopterhobbies.com]. In the coming months, this will become more evident as things begin to smooth out. A lot of positive changes are in the works, so I'm told!

It now belongs to us! Harold at HH bought Jason's stock and we bought the domain. Its back up with most of the old info and more will be developed there as time allows.

Well in my free time I Made Some Changes to EP-8 CF Frame I decided rather than a universal frame panel to make a Right and left side to enhance frame features along with add strength for stability with high head speeds.

1. Removed the stock base tray and designed a CF version but added Landing gear wings to allow use of either LOGO 10 or standard 30/50 Gear
2. Added battery strap loop tabs on the tray
3. Changed ESC mount angle to allow more battery options.
4. Drilled single hole patterns for servo mounting verses using slots only allowing machine screw and locknut use now you can use Sheet metal screws.
5. Added TR Servo mount to house a 9254 or similar servo
6. Lengthened Gyro and ESC trays

Pictures below is 1.65mm Blue Ice CF frame as pictured weighs 80gm

I will get some assembled ready to fly pics later
